Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Why?

Because it reflected human nature exactly. The characters were all human. They all fucked up royally. And some of them...didn't survive their screw up.

People who bitch about Brokeback Mountain not winning...it was a good movie, granted, but Crash showed real people in a sharper and more dangerous light. It showed what we are. And that's why I give it utter kudos. The acting was amazing, the cinematography very low key, dark and akin to that of Collateral. This was a great movie. The characters were complex and had each an individual personality.

I don't care what the hell people say. This was a brilliant movie because it, though cynical and dark, showed exactly what people do in this day in age. And that's why I give it claps. Jump beyond that, the script was original--not adapted--and even a few of the new actors put into the film were good. It was great.

Now a total favorite. When I had seen parts, I thought it looked good, but now I know it was excellent. Smile

My sister's boyfriend brought that over a couple weeks ago I believe. It was indeed a great movie. The end had me hooked in. I like how it took a whole group of stories and tied them all together. (like the cop, how fucked up was that?) I'll keep it low so I don't spoil anything, but man. Everyone should see this movie.

Both the cops were interesting characters, weren't they? You had the idealist, the rookie who really believed that he could be fair, and then the veteran, a racist prick.

All the characters in that movie were interesting. They all had their unique qualities that eventually all came together. I really liked the ending of it. I think I said "Holy s**t!" about...4-ish times?

Well--my language wasn't that strong, but the ending was definetely interesting. Rich in irony. Lord, the entire thing was drowning in it.

Not that it's a bad thing. Wink

Irony has had a hand in some of the best movies in the last some odd years!

It really was a beautiful movie. I totally agree with you all. The characters were so interesting.

My favorite story had to be the Latin locksmith and the Arabic storeowner. Oh my God, I was like crying my eyes out durring this one scene (won't spoil it but for those of you who have seen it, you must know what I'm talking about.) It was so like beautiful. I'm getting all teary-eyed just thinking about it.

That was actually the one thing I didn't really like in the movie. It was like overloaded with irony to the point where scenes were pretty predictable. I mean, the racist cop and the lady in the truck..very powerful scene and it brought me to tears but other ones like how Ludacris's story ends..well come on, it was just way too far-fetched for comfort.

Some irony made the movie absolutely brilliant but other ironic parts really were hard to believe.

I actually liked the verteran cop moreso than the rookie by the end of the movie. Who played that guy? Matt Dillon? Whoever he was, he was brilliant in the acting. He went from prick to like a man you wanted to weep for by the end of the movie.

The rookie kind of pissed me off. His idealism and paranoia was ultimately the reason for his grave mistakes.

Oh! I forgot to mention! Did anyone else notice the ending where the black guys (or were they Mexican?) were adding things to burn in the fire? I mean, how degrading to black people is that? "Oh we're just black people with nothing to do so we're gonna go burn s**t! 'Cuz thats what black people do. We burn s**t!"

That was like one of the funnier scenes in the movie to me. Laughed my ass off thinking of them saying stuff like that. "Yeah! We're burning s**t! We got nuthin' to do so lets burn stuff!"

Same. It was a very interesting, deep character. I loved it because, (like I've ranted before) the guy was incredibly human. Matt Dillon did a great job as that cop.

Once again, I agree.

I would have to disagree with this. I don't exactly think that that was what the fire was suppose to signify. Often, flame is the symbol of rebirth and death...which was what Crash was all about. The kids throwing crap in the fire--they were just kids. I don't think it meant anything beyond that. There was a car, it was on fire...hey, why the hell not? They were just enjoying themselves. Granted, it was in a poor neighborhood, and yeah, they were black, but they were just enjoying something shiny and bright. Fire.

I loved the story of the shop keeper and the lock smith, and one of my favorites would be the story of the house wife

Its wonderful that she realizes who her real friends are! Smile

there were some beautifly shot scenes, like the one with the fire.
the cinimatography was fantastic. Cool

The cinematography was great. Reminded me of Collateral....

I didn't like the wife. I thought that she was too much of a bitch. Great acting, though, coming from the usually stale Bullock. I was impressed...somewhat. The locksmith and the shopkeeper were great. It was an interesting story, because you have two minorities who, even as they're considered the least appreciated, judge each other, or, at least, the Persian.

I almost cried when that girl nearly got shot. Sad What an angel though. Amazing little kid...

For a moment I tried to figure out why she could have said that and then realized, as my friends razzed me for it, that the woman was just a psycho. Too many drugs, too much pain. She just was off her rocker completely.
