Since the general consensus is that Hollywood so totally needs a makeover, what do YOU think would be a good idea for a movie? Be original, and try to actually try something that hasn't been entirely cliched.

I think they should make a movie about a guy trying to make a non-cliched movie.

Rolling eyes Well...

I'm beginning to believe that book writers should try to write screenplays. They create their own ideas every single year (or, at least good ones) and for some reason there are some authors who I think really would score switching to screenwriting.

But that's just me.

Who's that one author guy. Can't remember his name. He like wrote the screen play for a movie called Mirror Mask. It's suppose to be about a girl who is in a circus and wants to run away to the real world. You know how people say they want to run away and join the circus? It's the opposite of that, neat huh? I think the author might be Neil Gaiman. Not sure though. The movie never made it to theaters. I thought it sounded really unique. I still have yet to see it.

Writing books and writing screenplays are completely different things, I'm sure there are writers out there who could make them jump, but I kind of have doubts that the majority would do it well.

It's kind of like saying "portaiture artists can draw well, they should make comic books" It's a completely different set of skills.

Now if you got novel writers and paired them up with talented screenplay writers, that could work.

It would, wouldn't it? Thank you for the correction.

I think that Hollywood is just plain out of ideas, someone needs to get to work on the creativity of the idustry itself.
