Alright everybody... I really like the art style of anime/manga, and my art is kinda inspired from that, but when it comes to anything else... I really don't know a lot about any animes or mangas... soo.. I would just like to know about some really good animes/mangas that I could read/watch... I really have no idea where to look and what to look for, so I would like to have an idea what is good and interesting... also, maybe some good not-so-popular ones... thanks, everyone, your input would be great!! |

The three best ones that I can think of that are on tv regularly are Cowboy Bebop, .hack//sign and FLCL (fooly cooly, furi curi, whatever). All of which are on Cartoon Network I believe.
If your looking for non-mainstream there are really too many to list, but you'd be surpised at what you can find in the bookstore, library etc. _________________ a jelly calypso castle in the sky |

If you are looking for amazing art in anime, I suggest you check out Makoto Shinkai's works.
Most notably Hoshi no Koe (Voices of a distant star) since I think thats the only one licensed. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

Well it all really depends on what you like.
If you like swords and sorcery type fatasy I'd suggest Sorceror Hunters, Dragon Knights or Slayers
If you like modern fantasy I sugest Alice 19th, Magic Users Club, or X/1999
If you're into romantic comedy go with Hana Kime, or Duck Prince
If you like gothic lolita style go with Under the Glass Moon, or Model
If you like fighting/action ones go with Naruto or Real Bout Highschool
If you like humor go with Azumanga Daioh
I could go long but those are all really good ones ^^ _________________

plungergirl, what kind of story are you looking for, adventure, romance, comedy, ect?
for comedy, azumanga daioh is great
for romance (and a bit of comedy) both maison ikkoku and ai yori aoshi are good (maison ikkoku the better of the two i think)
for adventure....... probably scrapped princess (which hasn't come out in the US yet) but if you have to stick to stuff that's come out in the us.... *thinks* well, cant think of one off the top of my head
then there is haibane renmei........... i love this show. a lot of people find it boring, or too slow paced, but it has beautiful art (Yoshitoshi ABe) and a great plot (although it may take a few times through it to understand it)
if you need to look any of these up there should be basic descriptions on animenfo |

some really good animes in my opinion are Naruto,Scrapped Princess and Blue submarine even though that is more like a movie and is pretty old uhh for some manga (looks at her shelf) ummm Hellsing all the way the art and plot line is fantastic and samurai deeper kyo has a wonderful plot. Juvenile Orion is also an awesome new manga! _________________ I'm just a simple MEGGY MAE. |
