| Hey,
There's a few different topics about what inspires people to draw/write etc. I was just wondering who people admire when it comes to drawing. If there's any specific artist people like, or the animation on a particular show or movie. Just asking.

I, personally, love Paul Kidby's artwork. He really captures the characters he illustrates perfectly. And the animation in Hayao Miyazaki's films is brilliant.

Well, just reply with whoever your favourite artist is.

 | Salvador Dali.
He's the greatest painter of all time, IMO. I love how is art can be so creepy and confusing one moment, then an almost normal picture the next. And it's all so gorgeous.

 | M.C Escher. I love the way his drawings and sketches twist the mind, the illusions within them. And the fact they're all finished in such a high quality. _________________

 | Kaori Yuki at the moment. She is the writer of Angel Sanctuary and also illustrated the manga series of it. I love her style, especially her style of drawing eyes.

I think that her's are the most beautiful illustrations of manga/anime I have ever seen
 (so far <_< ). Take a look!

 | Giotto was the best artist ever, in my opinion. Considering he was the first artist to move on from the Byzantine Style of art. _________________

His finished stuff is fantastic--But even his draft/scrap stuff is really fun to look at. I 've been using his images as wallpapers for quite awhile. I have a folder just for him and it shows as my screensaver.

 | Simon Bisley is my hero... I mean, completely and utterly. As in, if he ever needed a spare womb to carry his babies, I would gladly lend him mine.
He's got a really bizzare style, so it's kind hit or miss with people. Panels crammed full of detail, random characters drawn badly for the sake of being junky. Big bikery men and women who are sexy is that repulsive wild-man way. He pretty much owns that Heavy Metal style as far as I'm concerned.

 | hands down, i'd have to say "Masamune Shirow". his visionary talent and deep and moving imagery has set the standard of anime
we see today, so many artist i c today have really tried to mimick his Si-Fi and
heavy mecanalisic depth but fall short.

another one is "katsuhiro otomo"....and if u don't
know who this is, then i have no idea why u like anime, then again, it seems
pll have forgot about Otomo as well, so i'll just say this...."Akira"...without
it anime would not be as populer as it is today.

 | Geez, I could never narrow it down to just one. I love so many artists of so many different styles.
Salvador Dali, naturally. His concepts are so intriguing and he is such an amazing painter.

Van Gogh simply because I adore the stylish way he painted things.

H.R. Giger has some of the best detail work, in my opinion.

Masamune Shirow and Yoshitaka Amano have some great art as well.

 | Hey, I just looked up the artists everyone put as their favs (well, the ones I didn't already know) and I'd like to say that they were all really good. Guess everyone has good taste in art, lol. It's really interesting to see what everyone thinks of as good art.

 | The people I really like are:
Miyazaki, for obvious reasons. His works are brilliant, and his movies...I cannot believe I missed two of them in the 'month of miyazaki' special on Toonami.

Fred Galagher: Though his art style seems very simple, it's actually perfect for the type of comic he draws, it allows for more freedom in certain areas.

Then, there is Hawk from Applegeeks. The style can be decieving at times...

 | Capura L.:
Not yet a "real professional" artist, but her artworks are really amazing. From CG to character design to costume design to sketching...it's all amazing.

Aya (AKA Valkyrie-Sorrow):

She's a really good artist on Deviantart, and her art are simply breathtaking. Nothing more I can say about her.

these people inspire me with every piece of their artworks, even the ones they call "junk" looks like an unfinished masterpiece to me. :]
