Okay, so Im starting to wonder how I can extend my "artistic" ability and Im hoping someone can help me, so I look at all of these amazing pictures, and I can't help to wonder. How does everyone manage to get such bold color to there pictures. I have always stuck with pencil on white paper or charcoal drawings but I would like to add some nice color to it. I have tried on a few of my pieces to add some colors but it just absolutely ruined it....does anyone have any special techniques? Is there a certain software I should download or something? please help.

What kind of color do you want to add, traditional (paint/pastel/pencil/etc) or digital? If digital, it doesn't matter what program you use. Traditionally, depends on what effect you want. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Okay as mr. site admim above stated it does depend on what kind of colour your looking for. but if you draw mainly in gray scales and black and white you have the outline of the character and you should be able to visualize what the characters colors are and where they go. so try adding those colors that you see to the characters person, this may take a lot of experimenting with mixing and blending so i recomend using a separate sheet of paper to find that right color and write out the combinations and the order in witch they are done to get it. sfter you have all the right colors then fill in the character with them. if you still don't like what you see the i recomend, and this will take time to learn and operate, adobe photoshop (preferably CS2) to inhance colors, match detales and soften, sharpen, or relay parts on your pic. this is a long and very complex task indeed and the program is high end not to mention large, but with time and experience you can do a lot with your origanal pics. other things to use would be: microsoft picture manager, and (if your really good at it) paint bucket, there are many more thing that yu can do to inhance your pic but some can ruin them. and as a note of what to do to be safe about inhancements is to make a compete copy of the pic that you want to inhance and use the copy and it's save name to experiment with so if you scew up you can always go back. but any how you have a long ways to go with this and it's all to much for me to explain here. so if you don't mind tell me what programs you have on your computer now that you can use to do any thing with a pic and get back to me with the specifics of your problems and i will see how i can help you and if i can. i hope that i have been of some help so far any way and hope to talk to you again if you still have problems. |

My member title should read "now with real working vagina!"
But I did suffer through the big block of text and feel the need to add:
-- For coloring, Photoshop Elements is more than enough. CS2 is generally a waste of money for 99% of the people who buy it. All the features they add with every update are geared towards publishing houses and graphic design firms, those who do mass print runs and need additional tools to do that. Almost every artist can find all they need in the older and even limited trial versions. I use 7.0 after all. To do these. http://www.fanart-central.net/user-fallenangel.php All you need to color a picture is a paintbrush tool and layers (to make it easier). Tablet and pressure sensitivity help. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
