As for me, Progressive Rock (Rush, Pink Floyd, partly Iron Maiden), Punk (Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash), Metal (Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Ozzy), and some folk rock (Neil Young).

Progressive/Alternative, (Liquid Tension Experiment, Dream Theater, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd) Grunge, (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in chains) SOME metal (Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden) Hard Rock (G3, GnR, ACDC, Zeppelin's early work...), RHCP (Hard Funk LOL)

Dunno, I like a lot of things, as long as the players are skillful like Satriani, Slash, Page, Flea, Vai, and they don't rely on the stickyness of their melodies, I approve.

i hat, paris hiltons music, hilary duffs music (I HATE HER ANYWAYS) kylie munoge, maddonna (i really dont like the idea of a 40 year old, prancing around in loetards)
i dont really like black eyed peas anymore (fergie ruined there music!) ANYWAYS,,,

me just HAD to say that.
And p.s hilary duff SUCKS ASS, the only reason she started her singing career, was she made a sh*tty movie, WITH a sh*tty "pop" singer that needed her to sing (i saw the end of that movie and i made an oath never to view a second of it eva again)!

MAN, i FIANNLY got that outa my system (sorry for the poop out of my mouth, with the dirty words)

Definately Progressive Rock.

You can easily listen to all their CDs in order and watch it evolve into a completley different style than it started as. Somewhat with Iron Maiden, too.

heya, you can post where ever you like!!!!! it doesnt matter... i think, but i think your first post is to be in the introuduce yourself

ANYWAYS,, i like ray charles' music, jaz, funk, techno (well, you sorta cant dance to techno[big fish little fish card board box]) AND i like playing music! i play/played

Piano, tenor sax, trombone, violin (used to anyways) anndd..... recorder (well, marie had a little lamb at least ^-^')

I know they played progressive rock, but the genre has evolved into a much heavier and dense kind of music, the actual progressive bands give a more crowded sound, while Pink Floyd remains being progressive, its much softer.... at least in my opinion...

I listen to all kinds, but I do listen songs in foreign languages more often trying to learn the language. (French especially)

Orcherstra-based symphony rock is nice, so is Ska, Ra and all those minor genres no one ever talks about.

I don't like Ska at all.... its too much like reggae, the rythm is the same with a doubled tempo.

Although Orchestra-Based Rock is quite good, there is a spanish band called "Mago de Oz" that uses Trove and Metal as main genres, although they use violins, flutes and other instruments wich add the orchestra feeling to almost all their songs and they have a certain Celtic and Arab influence making their songs sound really medieval. check them out...

I like rock in general, Robert Dougan is wonderful! Plus angry feminist rock is always appreciated in my world. Orchestra Based Rock always gets the adreniline running for me, I absolutely love it!
