Weird art things you love. Not normal things like prismacolors or dragons or inuyasha fanart, but completely ordinary things you have no purpose for loving.

Mine:

Sternocleidomastoid muscles. I love them in dudes, too, but in drawing I tend to emphasize them, which is ok for drawing men, but women get a little creepy looking even if they are really pronounced in real life. I go out of my way in life drawing to get a seat with good views of those muscles.

Strong noses and thick lips. And conversely, zombies with no noses and half of their mouth torn off.

And skinless things. Skinless men wearing leather jackets. Come to think of it, there's probably some irony to that...

Expressions. I think they tend to set the majority of a character's mood when drawing them...

Women.

Scantily clad, or fully covered with vaccum-fit costumes, big guns, swords, and robots.

I'm a fan of the female figure.

Noses with a high bridge. Nothing makes me more sad than those little tiny dots of anime noses. Or those kinds that have a slope and an upward curve. See: Lindsay's sig.

Also, Adam's apples. Sex.

And collarbones.

Eyes looking up to the left. I guess there must be something up there, because I always draw my people looking there. I should draw it someday.... "the thing in the upper-left."

Typical?

Well, I've read some stuff here that aren't even really applied to their actual work so... I'd rather have something typical which I CAN actually put on my works, than post something that I can't really do.

Typical...

I meant 50% of artists, if not more, enjoy and prefer drawing the female figure. That's like saying "I'm a breast man". It isn't really a fetish, just a common preference.

As opposed to something like "I draw a lot of women with one boob" or "I always draw women facing to the left" [which tends to just be a bad habit based on which hand a person draws with, but you get the idea].

I was saying it's not a fetish, not that there's anything wrong with it. And most everything in this thread can be applied to a person's work, I don't see where you were goin' with that. Small noses, high bridged noses, adams apples, sternocleidomastoid muscles, eye patches, all that...

Oh do forgive me.

I must have understood wrong when I understood "fetish" as being a fixation, and I am fixated on drawing women in different variations.

lol fetishes. I guess if yuove seen my comic art for years its obvious...women with very muscular bodies. Ive been pestered by a few immature women and insecure men over the past twenty years that Toni and the girls are to muscular. oh well!

oh, I love drawing boots, shoes, and all kinds of different odd angles for the girls to be in. I dont know if angles would be considered a fetish but high heal pumps, boots, clogs, and sneakers are Razz

I've always liked your art in your comics. The only problem i've ever had with your style was the noses, but from your sig and avvie, they're looking a little different, and i like how they're coming out.

women, i guess, would be my fetish Razz i mostly draw females. and female legs are definitely my fetish to draw. I go overboard sometimes with sizes and proportion Sad

Way to read all responses. Razz I already said that doesn't count as a fetish.

but it.. is. or its the closest thing i have to one. there isnt anything else i really draw more that other things. and bruces fetish is pretty much the same thing >: (

well, maybe eyes. I really love to draw overly defined eyes. i darken them alot more than the rest of the picture just to bring them out more. i do it in portraits alot but only when i want the eyes to be the focus on the pic. i dont do it to pictures otherwise. my gallery wouldnt be a good example, since most of the pictures i've done that to arent online.

It doesn't have to be something you draw in every picture, just something you really enjoy drawing but have no reason for. Like eye patches. Not all of Brian's pictures have them, but that's a completely random thing to enjoy drawing (if all his pictures did have them, I'd assume he was just too lazy to make the eyes match Laughing ).

There's a pretty common reason for people enjoying drawing women, they're curvy and have a more pleasing line of movement than the typical man. Aside from the fact men are pigs and like drawing boobies.

Bruce's is different because...well, look at his women. Razz
