I know this one nice racing typed anime serie. There is made 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th stages, Extra stage, Battle stage and movie. I myself would say that it is one of the best anime, where is great racing, which i've ever seen. It explains most techniques the racers use on the serie, so i can say that even i got the idea what they talked about eventhought i don't examine cars much. I recommend it to those who love car races. Wink

But what you guys think? Or have you ever heard from it at all?

I've heard of it, never watched it. There's an Intial D racing game at the arcade by where I live. It's pretty cool. ^_^

Eurobeat is music which they use on that serie as backgroundmusic. Ofcourse, they have made plenty of soundtrack albums (i myself got 21 of them on my comp). So there aint only great racing but also great music Very Happy

Not real racing. its drifting and sliding around corners. Formula 1 is racing. but even thats going bad.

THought from what I've sceen it has good artwork.

Well.. on 4th stage there is atleast littlebit race on it since they pass the opponent while drifting actually...

ah...I loved that game, first Inital D was a game, now Its an Anime, and over in Japan they have a live action Movie for it, it seems like they are trying to get it back out again, but it still isnt nearly as big others that arent even half as old as it becase of the crazy over-obbsessed fangirls of characters of like, Inuyasha and s**t like that. ::feels sorry for the good animes that are pushed away by the overpowering fangirl nation:: I mean im a fangirl, but not the run-around-in-circles-screem-at-the-top-of-your-lungs-rip-off-anyones-head-that-even-talks-about-the-character(s)-she/he-is-obbsessed-with-have-to-have-the-characters-children-at-least-5-of-them!!!!.... Kind of fangirl. they are just creepy. Poor Inital D T_T

I first saw Initial D as a game for the PSX. I liked the game. I never watched the series, though.There's also an Arcade version of the game in a mall near our house.

It's not entirely for racing enthusiasts. So far the point of them racing in the Hakone or Hashiriya or whatever area are just showoff skills in downhill drifting and uphill gripping techniques. But, it's a great anime(the best one ever with a racing theme), don't get me wrong. I saw DVD copies of the whole series 2 years ago but sadly, I didn't have the money.

Does it ring bells? It sure does. The warning bells for "GODAWFUL CG" and "GIGANTIC LIPS ON PEOPLE".
Anyway, it was kind of addicting despite the animation drawbacks. I locked myself in a room all day once cause I wanted to finish the first series. Ah, for the days of my dorkdom.

Yeah. They did all have huge ass lips and crappy looking cars. I saw 1 episode of it a few weeks ago. Not too bad.

Theres a movie called 'Need for Speed: Tokyo Drift' and it's the biggest Initial D ripoff ever made.
