The P S 3 Thread

Let's talk PS3. I've heard some recent news on its subject (first on TV, then researching it on the 'Net). Maybe you've heard?

- The PS3 is scheduled to debut at a price point of [b]$499[/b] and [b]$599[/b] -- and both versions have a hard drive packed-in. The difference seems to be mainly in the size of the HDD. That's $100 more than the "real" (Premium) Xbox 360 package.

- The final PS3 controller has been released, and it looks essentially like a wireless DualShock 2. It includes its own sensors to detect the angles (but not necessarily position) it is held at -- I saw a sample video of someone playing a flight sim demo simply by tilting the controller. This comes at a sacrifice, though: No rumble feature, because apparently it would confuzzle the tilt sensors.

It's official: Sony announces "me-too" to Nintendo. :lol:

That's all I have to say ($500 for a gaming console is definitely out of my league) ... what say you guys?

Well it would seem that the $499 package would be a good deal, what with the 20 gig hd and all. But turn's out that it's very similar to the 360's core BS. The $499 system is stripped to the bone, and not really worth the endeavor. So for the real deal, let's say it's $599. And for the hardware, I don't think it's over-priced.

All the games they're showing are eye candy(but they're all sequels of games I was never really big on). So I won't be envious until Fumito Ueda makes something for it. In about 2-3 years....
