Miracle Worker

I saw a family
In desperate need
Of a little miracle
Not their speed.

I came over one night,
To see a terrible fight.
But I knocked on the door anyway.
What I saw could bring tears to your eyes.

An exhausted mother with three little girls.
A rebellious teenager, shouting swear words.
A drugged up father, paying no attention.
Their house, I won't neglect to mention,
Was in a horrible state,
No sign of love among the tattered paper plates.

I inspected the bedrooms there were but three.
One for the girls
One for the parents
And of course one for the teen.
All were messy, the little ones had only one bed.
The baby's crib, was just a pile of rags.

I grit my teeth
And spoke rather loudly.
The way I projected my voice, would have made my dad smile proudly.
I told them to listen,
To hear and to heal.

I came back the next day,
And saw an interesting sight.
The mother was on the couch
Watching the little ones play.
The father was cleaning
To keep a bigger mess at bay.

I had brought with me, some dontion items.
A crib, some clothes and two bed frames.
Next I had toys, seeing as how few the kids had.
They saw me hold them out, and lemme tell ya, they were glad.

I handed the father my dad's old flannel shirt,
He put it on gratefully, feeling ready to work.
I handed the mother All the maternal supplies I had,
Bottles, bibs, and even a few spare diapers from my brother's babyhood.

I set about to cleaning up, and they family helped out too.
And thanks to some groceries that I bought,
That night they had....a tasty stew.

Last time I saw the family,
They were all on a walk in the park.
They didn't notice me,
But I remebered and thought.
I really do have goos in my heart.

Wow! THAT WAS LOOONG! But yep. That was the dream I had last night.
As usual, I'd love to hear your interpretations. I like corn.

lots of people don't realize there's more to me that meets the eye. (figuratively speaking in this case) I'm not just an insane girl bent on holding grudges.(it's a curse I tell you!). I'm an insane girl bento on holding grudges with a deep side to her personality. ^_^ I finally altered my signature. It's got a picture! YAY!! Nick has inspired a poem. Praise Nick and Za.

You look at me and probably think,
Plain girl dressed in black.
Gothic. Or emo.
Nope. You're wrong.

I'm a free spirit.
I like dark colors,
They're easier on my eyes.
I'd rather be in,
Not out with my friend
Trying to rebel.

I've nothing to rebel against.
Sure, I question society,
But I'm not going to vandalize anything.
It's not that big a deal to me.

When it all comes down to it,
I'm just a quiet artist.
Trying to be seen.
For the real me.

The me that doesn't mind,
The me that's a little too shy.
The me that tends to hide.

I know I've got some flaws,
A few more than I'd rather mention.
I need braces, I hold grudges.
I'm a little antisocial,
I scare my neighbors. (haha)

But you know something?
Those flaws, the imperfections,
And the good things about me,
That's what makes me human.
That's what makes me real.

A poem of self actualization, when I realized, my life isn't half bad. I used to be a super gloomy gus, but I think about it, and I don't NEED to fit in with people. If I be myself, then I'm more likely to make friends who like me for me. Not for the "gothic-me" or the "psycho-me". Just me. Rissa. I still don't smile often, but now it's because I'm always thinking. Or I'll smile and people won't know what I'm smiling about. (Internal conversations are always fun!) So, I've babbled enough on this so,.....mmmyep. There ya go. As always, post an interpretation, another poem, any sort of response. ^_^

It took me nine years to figure it out. I'd been told to be myself, but every now and then I'd lose sight of it. I'm not all that proud of certain points of my personality, but meh. Who cares what the others think of me? I'm not super happy, but I am content. Content like those rainy days I can spend curled up in my pajamas, with my cat, on the couch or somewhere cozy, drinking hot chocolate and DOODLING! I love doodling. I've got thousands of pieces of fanart, none of which I have submitted.

That episode cracked my dad and I up.

So! This poem....I can't think of a title. Those who read might be able to help me with this. It's a problem I'm dealing with, and I don't know what to do anymore.

I don't know if he notices,
Or if he even cares,
He's my best male friend in the whole wide world,
But now when I see him,
I get so nervous I want to hurl. (Ew.)

I've known him for a couple years,
He's always been so nice to me.
Sure, he teases me sometimes,
But coming from him,
It seems nice.

I'm lost and confused,
And scared and alone.
My feelings get twisted,
I don't know what to say.

I'm shaking in my combat boots,
Composure rattling in my body,
My heart is hammering so hard,
I feel it might burst out.

I see him and I want to laugh
I want to cry,
I want to tell him.
I want to be able to let him see the weakness in me.

But I'm too scared he'll be like all the rest.
The ones who left me,
Standing there.
All alone, feeling so scared.
My heart broken into even more pieces.

Every night I go home, and lock myself in my room.
And try to find a way to tell him,
How I really feel.
