Personally, I hate country. The only songs I hear are always about their dog dying, or their truck, or how their wife left them. Or Jesus.

A lot of it sounds the same to me, but I love singing obnoxioulsy loud to Shania Twain with my friends driving down a highway, but who doesn't?

I don't mind it, but some of the more patriotic stuff annoys me. Especially when they use a national tragedy as a bandwagon.
I thought "Osama Your Mama" was decently entertaining, though.

Country is basicly accoustic rock, minus half the skill, all of the originality, and the attitude.

I disagree with the statement on skill. There have been some fine country guitarists. Not all acoustic either.
They can have an attitude too, just not rock/metal attitude. As far as originality goes, older country is more original than it is today.
It's blues rock with the "country" accent nowadays. Johnny Cash didn't sound anything like the country of today.

Country is great if you want to go dancing or have a party. You can sing along with every country song, even if you've never heard it before.

I don't like the newer kind today either...but it is definatly fun to sing to the older kind....but what is wrong with the patriotic songs? As a navy brat I see nothing wrong with the songs like "courtesy of the red white and blue" and songs like that. I also see nothing wrong with songs about Jesus......they are alot better than people singing about murdering somebody.[/quote]

Only if you can understand it, and half of it you can. Eitherbecause the person can't sing, or is to drunk to sing. (the singer on the cd, i mean.)

I think there are talented people in rap. Tupac, Jay-Z, Public Enemy...

Cash didn't really bitch about random crap. Not all country musicians bitch, nor are their lyrics random.
I think the lyrics can be overdone and politically kiss-ass. Not random.
I don't really like country for a few reasons. I don't like the way they sing and I don't like the basslines to some of the more "upbeat" country songs.

I am not saying that there isn't good rap out there cause I know there is. Will Smith is one that I perfer to listen to over others^-^ But I listend to one eminem song and I can't stand rap any more.......there is no respect in some of the songs they sing. Therefore, how am I an idiot for stating my opinon in the music that I can't stand? I can call you just as much of an idiot for liking rap cause I hate it.

You're not listening to the right stuff if Eminem is your reason for not liking rap anymore.
Tupac's "My Block" and "So Many Tears". Respectable.
