I just had this weird thought that I might grow out of the whole 'anime and manga obsession'. I hope i dont. anime is the coolest thing (especially One Piece). So, I was wondering what other people think... |

Nah, I don't think many people can grow out of watching anime. Unless they just started watching it like yesterday and think that Edward Elric is the epitome of a Shounen anime hero.
Your interests will probably shift from what you currently like, though. As I've gotten older I've started watching alot more REALLY old series. I just suffered through some of Fist of the North Star 2 *sob*.
I think anime's pretty versatile. :V It's not all Dexter's Lab or Power Puff Girls. It's not just kiddy stuff. _________________

Well, I can't see the future, so I can't say. 8D I'll probably stop drawing in an anime art style eventually, but I don't think I'll stop liking anime. I'll get tired of certain fandoms, but I'll always find new ones. It's a cycle. :B _________________ FAC |

There were so many middle-aged dudes at AX, it wasn't even funny. I was beginning to think that when my parents bitched about all my Internet friends really being 60-year-old men, they were right. 8D _________________ FAC |

I think I'll always like animes. I've been into those for a little while now. My mangas and series I read and watch have changed but I find new ones thanks to my friends and just because I freaking love those.
like junkie said, takes you away from the real world. You just get into what you read and forget what's going on. There's stuff for everyone. Kiddie animes, others for teens, adults, yaoi, yuri and the list goes on and on. |

Yes, I plan to never watch any anime ever again past my 18th birthday. =l
(No, I can't see myself growing out of liking anime. But then again I can't see myself growing out of liking stuff like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends or Dexter's Lab either. >_>) _________________ a jelly calypso castle in the sky |

I don't think I'll always be watching anime (I've actually drawn away from it quite a bit over the past year), but I think I'll always admire the anime art style. I'm still big on manga though. |

:! You're alive! <3
I'm pretty sure I've seen this topic and posted in it a long, long time ago... A really long time ago, maybe. But sure, I don't see why I'd just randomly stop watching it. Or reading it. |

Oh gosh, I just found another reason to keep watching anime - Ouran High School Host Club. I hate those silly 'OMG fanservice' scenes that happen every episode between the twins, but I love love love the opening sequence animation - it's got that simple, clean style that reminds me of Clamp's more recent works. I ish a fan.
P.S. 'Course I'm alive. I just went away for a while (a whole semester, ha ha) because my final term of school was really busy (somehow I managed to graduate D: ). I'm back for the time being, but I haven't moved into my apartment yet, and I don't know if I'll have internet there (I'm in a hotel right now). Oh yes, it's good to be back in Japan, land of ridiculous humidity, short people., and a vending machine on every corner. |

I love that anime. 8D I hear it's on pretty late at night or something. :V
And yeah, I love the opening sequence, too. Too bad my computer can't play it without lagging really badly. T_T
I laugh at the fanservice between the twins just because you can tell they're just doing it for show. 8D |

I haven't been able to get my hands on the anime, but I couldn't bring myself to read past the first volume of the manga. Too many words per panel, in both speech bubbles and in the background, too many sparkles and random brushes, ARGH MY EYES. When I was 12, I came dangerously close to being one of those weeabo anime fanbrats. All of my friends were crazy into anime, the internet was crazy into anime, TV stations were crazy into anime and I just followed suit. Then one day something in my head clicked and I realized that was NOT the path I wanted to go down.
Over the years my appreciation for the genre as a whole has dwindled to the point that I can count the series I enjoy on one hand.
After a year of animation, my indifference towards 90% of anime has turned into outright dislike.
People think I'm being snooty about it when I go into all the technical reasons I can't stand anime, but that's not it. I can just better articulate now why it bothers me so much. I'm into cartoons more now than I ever have been before in my life... I'm just into good cartoons. _________________

... You realize that's never going to happen, right? The anime we're talking about is in reference to the common Japanese style of animation, right?
1. You need to be in Asia AND speak an asian language (likely Japanese on top of whatever other asian language you might know, though I don't think Japanese is the requirement).
2. Producer, director, scenario developer, animator = ALL DIFFERENT THINGS. It cannot be 100% your choice what goes in and what doesn't.
These are dark days for society the internet... :V |
