That's an idea that's been discussed several times, ever since Denis had the half finished rating system on each picture. The problem is that while in theory it's a great idea and would give great art the recognition it deserves, it would undoubtedly be abused. Especially considering this is a fanart site, and comments are heavily based on subject matter (just look at comment/views on my work compared to, say, Inu Yasha stuff), it's more likely that all the pictures of whatever is popular at the moment would end up with the highest ratings while things just as good if not better of less popular subjects still go ignored.
Then there's the issue of, if things with better ratings get some kind of recognition (Daily Top Faves on DA, for example), people are likely to recruit their friends to rate them highly to get their image there. While it's a nice idea, and I believe Denis was/is working on a better rating system than what was originally in place, it will never work as well as it does in theory. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C.
