I don't know if it's just me, but at my school, a lot of anime fans aren't very popular.
We aren't well liked at where i live and it's hard to make friends.... |

Yeah, you'd find that in most places
Anime isn't cool.
Smoking, girls and football is cool.

Yeah, that happends a lot when I live, but I don't really care about what does people think. If you don't like anime well, good for you but if you like it is something we have in common.
Your likes on tv shows and other kinds of stuffs shouldn't be important on a relationship. It's like if you didn't wanted to be someone's friend just because they like soup, and you don't.
It's actually pretty stupid, unless you are a full-time fangirl. |

Who the hell cares? Since when is it a bad thing not to be popular? In highschool most of the popular kids are druggies. I'd rather have a great group of friends that like things that I do (anime) than be in a shithole with people that I do drugs with. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. I for one think it's better to be an outcast not so much pressure. Plus You can keep your thoughts and say them without worring about a rep. So continue the outcast life tis a good one. |

2 years ago, my art teacher hated anime somuch he told me it wasn't even considered drawing when he took a look at my sketchbook.
That was a war declaration. He didn't come back to my school last year nor is he this year _________________ A life with love will have some thorns but a life without love will have no rose |

I hate when people say anime isn't art. Sure, it's overdone, but when 3 year olds can smear paint on a canvas and can pass it off as a professional work... _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

Something tells me that the fact you like anime doesnt contribute to you not being popular. |

Me? I'm not popular but i'm definately not unpopular. I'm one of those kids who gets along great with everyone but no one outside of his inner circle even knows his name. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

No, not you in specific just anyone who thinks anime is part of the reason they are unpopular.
If you are some one who is completely obsessed with anime and never stops talking about it than yes you can blame your anime. |

Well, ya. Generally, things that people obssess about are the things that people dub "geeky". You hafta be well rounded. It's ok to love anime. But it's not okay to live anime. _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

anime?
seeing as this city is quite literally run by Asian University students, about everybody knows anime here.
They aren't very popular though, people are just aware that it exists.
I personally haven't seen a very capable people who liked anime, maybe the problem really is on your end. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Sorry to break up the discussion. I just have to see if my member-title will go away.
EDIT: Good. It did. It was "Kibi!" and I was at 1024. Whats the significance? Is it like a Kibibyte thingy? _________________ Smoking cigarettes can reveil hidden laser traps. This message brought to you by Marlboro.

Maybe I am just too blunt or rather a girl that loves her anime (I don't count the japanese culture obsession and interest as the picked on part) but we really put it upon ourselves most of the time.
I used to get harrassed in junior high, or rather they tried to bully me but I just played it off and got along with them and still drew my anime. Hell im a senior now and still sit in the cafeteria and read my manga.
Its all in the way you handle and present yourself with your interests. There are always the normal anime appreciators.......and then the obsessed loud and annoying kids that scream over fucking inuyasha and fruitsbasket pictures they printed online. |

I'm an outcast because I dress different and listen to different music, because a generalisation of students at my school are fans of RnB&Rap, pop and all wear surf brands. I wear black band shirts and listen to AFI.
=[
I get weird looks walking down the street, but I don't let it bother me. Happy as I am, ty <3
We also have anime kids at our school. Like, 6 lolz. They all draw. One of them is on FAC, she has a featured pic x] |
