Featured Art Proposals

This topic has been created so the users of fanart central can suggest images to be featured on the main page of FAC. Before posting in here please make sure you read my entire post.

1. Do not suggest your own submissions to be featured. If they are good enough then someone else will surely notice and bring it to our attention.

2. Don't ask groups of people to suggest your picture to be featured. One post per image will get it as much attention as 50 posts would.

3. This topic is specifically for posting links to submissions you think are worth being featured. No spam will be accepted, and any post without a link to a suggested picture will be deleted.

4. Please don't comment on the links posted by other users. If you dont't think the image is good enough to be featured that is fine, but no need to hurt others feelings by saying so.

5.Your posts with suggestions will not always be replied to by those who choose the featured pictures. If we agree that it is worth being featured, it will be. Every link posted will be looked into. [color=red] It's important that you do not post asking if your link has been looked at and if the image will be featured.[/color]

6. When it comes to the submissions you are suggesting use your own judgement. We aren't going to feature pictures just because they contain characters you like or because they were created by your friend. The picture have to actually be well done. Try not to waste your time suggesting anything you feel is probably not good enough.

7. Not sure what qualifies as featured art? Check out the guidelines Fallen posted in this topic http://forums.fanart-central.net/viewtopic.php?t=25067&start=0 . It's 5 posts from the top.

Get to posting those links. As this topic grows new guidelines for posting may be created.

I think these two people are great artists, and have some worthy pics, but not just these ones, also in their galleris and such... Okay, i'll stop blabbaering... XD... Thank you for taking the time to look at this!

I would like to suggest a few guidelines to keep in mind for proposals:

[list][*][b]Artwork by new FAC members[/b]: As much as we want to select featured pictures based on quality, it's a sad fact that good artwork is also targetted by thieves; should a work have been stolen, we would like to [i]avoid[/i] featuring it on the main page.

[*][b]Repeated artwork by the same member[/b]: No more than one piece by the same artist should be featured on the main page [i]at a time[/i]. If we a newer submission by that artist is worth being featured, while a previous submission of theirs is also featured on the main page, we will decide how to handle this.

[*][b]Reason for Nomination[/b]: As a way to prevent spamming (since this topic is for serious use only), please take a moment to briefly explain [i]why[/i] you think that the submission meets Featured Art standards. There are three criteria to consider: [i]skill with the subject matter[/i] (be it human, animal, or otherwise), [i]skill with the media[/i] (traditional or computer), and [i]overall effort by the artist[/i]. Make a quick case on why this picture should be featured on the main page. Don't write out a whole essay on the subject, but at least give us some reason to consider it.[/list:u]

Verona is known well for her Sly Cooper art, but this pic really expresses her talent. She has caught the character's appearances well, and has been able to add her own distinction to them as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I read on someone's post, that the featured pictures push the older submissions off as the new ones come in (by time of submission not time of feature), wouldn't that mean that older images cant be featured?

has that been fixed yet?
