Ok, well, I for one don't have one and am just wondering: What the heck is it for? I mean, obviously blending, but, how does it help? Is it just for people that don't blend colored pencils well on their own or people who are just too lazy to blend the colored pencils on their own? Hm...? Answers....? Please? Please with Gackt-san on top? Ok, Ok, please with a request on top? XD

I guess it could be for both; I use the colorless blender because I like for my pictures to have a smooth look to them. Sort of like this...

I have used my colored pencils without the blender, but I prefer to use it. Doesn't mean that I'm lazy, but I like smoothness. This picture, I used a combination of blending using the colorless blender and just layering colors.

Well, I used to rely heavily on the blender, but now I rarely use it. Now I just use it whenever I get real lazy. xD It does not necessarily mean that you aren't that great of an artist when using it, because it's a useful tool nonetheless.

I'd use it to blend anything that I could not blend otherwise and to avoid having to add too much of a color I don't want to blend. In short, as a last yet useful resort.

Colorless blenders are for blending colors really evenly and accuratly, so you can have a nice smoth color that looks natural but you know isn't. there really good for blending color like shadows form light to dark evenly so it looks a lot better than if you tried to blend without one. but thats what they're for to make a picture look nicer than you know you can make it naturaly. you could say it's for those lazzy people that don't have the time or maybe talent to do it the natural way.

I'd imagine that it's the traditional art version of the smudge/soften tool.

What they said.

I use it with prismacolor to evenly distribute the color and fill in the natural grooves on the paper. Makes it somewhat difficult to tell that the drawing was done with colored pencils. ^_^

yeah, i did that to one of my older pics recently, it looks so much better than when i had posted it the first time. ^^

although its to large for my scaner and the camera kinda killed it, it's still better than i'd had before.

bah, I prefer glazing/tinting over using colorless blenders.
