There was a similar thread to this, but soundtracks, since they are usually varieties of different styles and genres, can be trickier to rate. In the other thread, you would rate albums by different artists, soundtracks deal with different artists, so the rating system is slightly different. Plus the other thread lost momentum.
The Matrix Reloaded:
Features Rage Against the Machine, Deftones, Manson, Dave Matthews Remix, Rob Zombie Remix, P.O.D, Linkin Park, and Oakenfold.
I'm a huge RATM fan, but I think they could have picked a better song than "Calm Like A Bomb". Maybe "Bulls On Parade", but not "Calm Like A Bomb"
Manson's "This Is The New s**t" wasn't even featured in the movie.
Deftones "Lucky You". Not one of the best bands in the world, but occasionally, Deftones get some good ones out. "Lucky You" was ok, in my book.
Every Remix was terrible. You should not techno Dave Matthews and it didn't help Rob Zombie at all.
P.O.D's "Sleeping Awake" was a good one because I like P.O.D. Marcos showed he could take effects to a reasonable height.
Linkin Park contributed "Session", which was a waste of time. LP tends to do that.
Oakenfold is a newer pop musician that doesn't know when to stop remixing. No more techno, please.
My rating for this soundtrack:
2/10

The Wedding Singer (shaddup... ):
Features: Presidents of the United States of America, Culture Club, The Police, The Smiths, The Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins, Elvis Costello, Billy Idol, David Bowie, New Order, Musical Youth, Ellen Albtertini Dow, Kajagoogoo, The Cars, Spandau Ballet, A Flock of Seagulls, The B-52's, The Flying Lizards, Dead or Alive, Depeche Mode, J. Geils Band, Hall and Oates, Madonna, and a couple Adam Sandler tracks.
Thoughts:
Obviously the music is a huge part of the film. Especially since it was filmed a decade later.
Video Killed the Radio Star/Presidents of the United... : I've always liked this cover. I like a lot of their covers. A cover band done good. Appropriate for the movie.
Do You Really Want to Hurt Me/Culture Club : Boy George is cool, and you know it. Makes for a funny joke in the movie. And it's a good song. Culture Club is fun.
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic/The Police : I've never been a big Sting/Police fan. I like this song ok, though. And it fits with the story.
How Soon is Now?/The Smiths : Not really a Smiths fan. Meh. Ok song. I'll tolerate it and not skip.
Love My Way/The Psychedelic Furs : Not a fan of these guys either, but the song's ok. Popular for a reason.
Hold Me Now/Thompson Twins : I've always liked this song. You'll catch yourself in the car just singing along like a jackass.
Everyday I Write the Book/Elvis Costello : An interesting song. Not one of my favorites from here, but it's alright.
White Wedding/Billy Idol : What do you think? Perfect track for when it's used. Plus he's in the movie at the end. All I'll say about that.
China Girl/David Bowie: I like China Girl. Besides, in the club they talk about him being "so sexy", so any movie that mentions that is ok by me...
Blue Monday/New Order : Overplayed song. I hate annoying synth lines. No more techno dammit.
Pass the Dutchie/Musical Youth : SKIP! Can't stand that song, never could.
Somebody Kill Me/Adam Sandler : It's a funny song. You remember it from the movie.
Rappers Delight/Ellen Dow and the Sugarhill Gang : Meh, never been crazy about the song, but the little old lady rapping the first verse is hilarious
Too Shy/Kajagoogoo : I like Kajagoogoo. Shut up. They had good hair. And this is a good song, you can't deny it. It's catchy.
It's All I Can Do/The Cars : There's real guitars in this one. Kind of annoying, but different.
True/Spandau Ballet : I usually skip it. Too angsty new wave for me.
Space Age Love Song/A Flock of Seagulls : They're catchy at times.
Private Idaho/The B-52's : Fucked up lyrics, cool song.
Money (That's what I want)/Flying Lizards : It'll get on your nerves quick, but the first listen is fun. It's so 80s it's almost sad.
You Spin Me Round(Like a Record)/Dead or Alive : you know you love this song. You can't deny it. You love the song, you love the video, you thought "the chick" was hot. Great opening for the movie, too.
Just Can't Get Enough/Depeche Mode : I don't really like Depeche Mode. Meh. Ok for a listen every now and then.
Love Stinks/The J. Geils Band : Awesome song. Like the movie version better (which I have an mp3 of, woo), but this is alright too.
You Make My Dreams/Hall & Oates : Have I ever mentioned I don't like them. I'll mention it now. SKIP.
Holiday/Madonna : I'm still calling her Madonna. I like a few Madonna songs. This isn't really one of them, but oh well. It's funny in the movie.
Grow Old With You/Adam Sandler : and if you've seen the movie, you know this song. Personally I think Billy should've sang it, but that's just me...
If you like the movie, pick it up. It's two volumes, because there's just SO MUCH cool music they couldn't fit it onto one (eh, they just want to screw you with double the price). _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Spiderman II soundtrack?
I don't have it, but from what I heard from the movie(credits, love scenes, action sequeces), I am not impressed. The first one had so much kick ass music. Jerry Cantrell, Theory of a Deadman, Black Lab, Aerosmith, Greenwheel....... This one has Hoobastank(what the Hell kind of name is that? Heard it was the guys middle name, but I doubt that.), Yellowcard, Maroon 5. They should have used Audioslave, or Incubus, or more of the original artists. I'm not impressed with the SM2 Soundtrack. The first one, however:
Hero-awesome acoustic featuring Nickleback's Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott. I don't geberally like Nickleback, but Chad was awesome in this song. Perfect timing for release as well.
Learn to Crawl- great Black Lab song. Love the guitar and bass here.
Jerry Cantrell-Plenty of awesome guitar and the vocals aren't half bad either.
Greenwheel-"Shelter" was awesome to me. Guitar, bass, drums, effects, vocals. Awesome use of all of the above.
Invisible Man- great Theory of a Deadman song. Has a nice hard rock sound with awesome vocals.
Aerosmith's take on the Spidey theme-funny as Hell for me, but Joe still kicks ass with a 40 year old tune.
Those are the good ones I listed, cause few people wanna hear about The Strokes or Macy Gray.

^___^ Awesome.
So do you have the Punisher Soundtrack? I think you might like it. Personally, I really enjoyed the soundtrack, and only disliked one of the songs (which is rare for me.)
Features: Drowning Pool, Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback, Queens of the Stone Age, Seether, Smile Empty Soul, Trapt, Cevelle, Damageplan (feau. Jerry Cantrell), Edgewater, Finger Eleven, Strata, Hate Breed, Seven Wiser, Sumersed, Atomship, Mark Collie.
I'll list some of the ones I thought were particularly good.
Never Say Never, Queens of the Stone Age: AWESOME cover! I really enjoyed the vocals, they were especially good.
Lost in A Portrait, Trapt: Very good lyrics, vocals, guitar, you name it. ^_^
Still Running, Chevelle: Typical to Chevelle's style, this was dark and different. The vocals were excellent, and the guitar play was awesome.
Ashes to Ashes, DamagePlan w/Jerry Cantrell: This song echoes the sound of Alice and Chains, influenced by the heavy guitar play and Jerry's unmistakeable vocals.
Piece by Piece, Strata: Oh what to say what to say! Probably my favorite track. Majorly awesome vocals, and very good lyrics, painful and dark. The drums, guitar, and base blend in nicely, and it is a superly intense track.
Time for People, Atomship: I put this as one that stands out, because it is different from most of the tracks. For example, it has a slow pace, the vocals are very haunting and unique, but its the lyrics that are the real jewel in this. They are very, very creepy.
In Time, Mark Collie: ^-^ Very good old school solo guitar work, and who doesn't love Mark Collie!? The lyrics are great, and this song was actually featured in the movie.
Overall Rating: 9/10
^_^ Hope ya'll like my review. This is the first time I ever did something like this! |

Trapt? Trapt is basically pop fused with random swearing.
I'll agree with you on most of those, but Trapt? No.
The Matrix:
Very awesome comtemplation for anyone who likes techno and occasional metal.
Manson-"Rock is Dead" is excellent for guitar and bass. Vocals are a little weird, but, hey, it's Marilyn Manson.
Deftones-"My Own Summer(Shove It)" is a great song to blast while in the car. The chorus of "SHOVE IT" allows many Christain enthusiasts to nearly break down in tears. Love it.
Rammstein-"Du Hast" has awesome guitar and bass and drums. You can't understand the vocals unless you under stand German(Du Hast means "You want" I think), but still awesome.
Rage Against the Machine-"Wake Up" is possibly one of the greatest songs of their career. One of my favorites. Morello has blown out his amp to give you quality sound, Timmy C. has blasted his bass with awesome intros and outros, and de la Rocha screams his signature screaming chorus. The verses are upbeat(close to rap, but still counted as Metal) and full of rage(Still knee deep in the system's s**t,..........He gave the power to the have-nots, then came the SHOT). Another great accomplishment by RATM from their first album.

You know what, i don't have any soundtracks really. But i want someone to do do the "queen of the damned" sountrack.
I know it has Disturbed on it, which i'm sorry, i love them. And a s**t load of others that sound all right by me really. I just don't know who they are or the songs. *looks at flea with pleading eyes* do you? |

2. Forsaken-David Draiman of Disturbed
3. System-Chester Bennington of Linkin Park
4. Change-Deftones
5. Redeemer-Marilyn Manson
6. Dead Cell-Papa Roach
7. Penetrate-Godhead
8. Slept So Long-Jay Gordon of Orgy
9. Down With The Sickness-Disturbed
10. Cold-Static-X
11. Headstrong-Earshot
12. Body Crumbles-Dry Cell
13. Excess-Tricky
14. Before I'm Dead-Kidney Thieves
My rating: 7/10(good)
Barnes and Noble's rating: 5 Stars(highest)
I took some off for using LP and Papa Roach. Manson as well, but only because I don't like that song. The Deftone's song was a bad choice as well. The rest should be ok. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.
