comments not showing up??

I'm not sure whether or not this has been gone over before, but I hope you don't mind if I start another topic.

Anyway, recently, I noticed that I was still getting my alerts as per usual. However, when I went over to my profile or (on occasion) to a picture, there wouldn't be any new comments. At first, I just figured this was because someone had deleted their comment soon afterwards, but the problem has happened to me many times now in the past few days. I get alerts, and I click on the link, but the comments there are still all old.

I think this has been more prominent on my profile than on pictures. I think it also might be a lag or something, because hours after a profile comment notification was sent, and I checked my profile and found nothing, I came back and found a comment while no new notification had been sent.
But I might still be missing at least 2 comments or something of the sort.

So, any clues? I'm not getting any problems with broken code or anything; I just seem to be missing comments completely.

Due to a design flaw in the new comment code, replies more than 2 levels deep (the commend and one reply) do not appear unless you use the full comments few.

I haven't found an efficient SQL query to fix this problem yet.

Ah, yes, I realize it now, sorry about that.

So... this is and error and not what's supposed to happen? Because it really is a bit of a bother having to open up my entire profile comments, which can take a while to load.

But, thanks, now that I know the cause, I can keep track of it. So sorry I completely missed the comments the first time around.

Its only to replies of replies which are not that common (comments are not supposed to be a forum). But I still don't have a solution that won't slow down the servers.

This problem sounds similar to one I'm encountering tonight. I commented on someone else's profile a little while ago, got a response, followed the link on the e-mail, and noticed that the comment I had left isn't visible, and neither is the response to it.

What's going on now is what I'd like to know! Mad
