When it was first released I thought Nintendo's flame was going to be extinguished by the next-gen graphics of the PSP. In some cases, they have been. Yet, while the PSP has more power than the DS, the DS gets a boost with developers who strive to create truly beautiful and unique game worlds while the PSP gets generic, ported games with almost zero flavor. Here's some DS screenshots from games that have really pushed the hardware to it's max:

Simpler graphics are kinda like pixel art. You don't have as much to work with, so you put more effort into what you do have.

Yeah. And it's the same sort of thing with the Wii, I think. It's what seperates games like Oblivion and Twilight Princess on an artistic perspective. I hope Nintendo can pull through in that regard. I know third-party developers have with games like Elebits and SSX Blur.

One game has really pushed the DS graphically, is MP:H. Ok, so they're very pixelated, but it's unique gameplay style (Assuming you'd use stylus mode) puts a whole new dimension on FPS, a thing the PSP has struggled to do (A decent FPS) for a long while.
