Anyone heard about it, or at least have any idea if it will be any good?

For the DS.

Seems like Disney's late answer to Pokémon, though, this time, it seems more aggressive and, well, fun. Instead of collecting creatures and studying them and battling until the other faints... you're out as some galactic patroller and you have to kick some ass. I think Disney will hit the high note with this and it will get pretty big.

You see, as well as battling the creatures/whatever, you have to uncover them, to collect them. You have to find thier forms in earth, and using the stylus, scrape and chip away stone to uncover the form of the creature, then using the microphone, blow the dust away, then whisper/shout "Wake up!" and the creature will come alive and you got them.

Now there's a twist there, and a great way for Disney to make a shitload more money ('cause we'd expect no less from Disney, anyway) they are releasing these card packs in shops with holes in the card, which you lay on the touch-screen, and press in the holes. Using this method, you uncover rare or exclusive creatures for your battling team.

What's more, using the DS's WiFi capabilities, you can get involved in a worldwide league table based on a series of events, showing you where you stand compared to the rest of players everywhere...

Sounds like I'm advertising it, I know, but it looks good. And even though Disney's target audience is obviously children, like many other things, adults (like me) are sure to enjoy this, too. Just like Pokémon.

I herd u liek spektroabz.

I can see it now.

Anyway, Disney released 4 (so far) webisodes and they're available on youtube;

By the way, the info I wrote up here is all I've got from the webisodes, so if it's wrong, wutevs.

I'm a little bit cautious of this game, especially with Diamond and Pearl around the corner. I'd like to get my hands on it and try it out before I actually buy it.

It'll be blown out of the water by P/D, without a doubt.

Unless Disney can somehow find a way to turn it into a star like they did with Kingdom Hearts.

Spectrobes' graphics look cheap. Even though I don't have a DS, I wouldn't buy it anyway. I know, I judge by looks. *shrug*
