you know that move remake "the pink panther" well, i was babysitting, a 10 year old and two like 6 or 7 year olds, and they wanted to watch it, i said yes since it was PG.
About 3 times in the movie, the actors swore and there were tons of sexual puns. It was horrible, really. I was wondering if anyone else knew of movies rated PG with things like this in them. I certinly dont remember PG movies like that! |

In truth, I think that PG movies were a lot worse before. I dunno, I just remember seeing some old 60's or 70's movies that were rated PG and there were loads of swearing. Expletives?
"Bullshit!"
"Goddamn it!"
"Fuck!"
And more. Since I can't provide any examples of movies, I guess that my statement is invalid, I just remember that there was worse before. At least, in my case. |

Rock & Rule had a G or PG rating in Canada, and it has nudity, swearing, drugs, and all that fun stuff. _________________

Some PG movies are for kids. It depends on what it is. G is mostly for little kids because it doesn't have any bad words. |

You chose a British-esque comedy to show kids?
Of course there'll be sexual puns. |

I know what you mean. I geuss the mores and norms of society are changing. Anyone notice that swearing is allowed on commercials now? 5 years ago that was like unheard of. _________________ I have magical female powers

PG movies have always been like that, or so I believe. You're older now and actually understand the jokes, so they seem dirtier to you now. _________________ Go Yankees! |

I see. I understood alot of it when I was 10.
Don't mean to brag, but when I was 10 people say I looked 14.
And that's not just because I was big-chested... |

Pink Panther is British like so has more. Like over here a Saturday Morning Cartoon is Bugs Bunny. In say, Japan, Saturday Morning Cartoons are what they show at 1am on Adult Swim with warnings.
In France topless women say, in the news(They were covering the heat wave and there were women outside topless because it was just to damn hot) or whatever is no big deal.
Also, ever hear of Lenny Bruce? The last man in America who was arrested for saying the F word? He was the inspiration for George Carlin's 7 Dirty Words.(George Carlin was also arressted that night with Lenny Bruce and rode in the back of the same paddy wagon) Anyways, he makes a good point on "bad" words.
Or the show Bullshit hosted by Penn and Teller did an episode on how "bad" words are Bullshit. Pretty much you can say the F word a million times and nothing will happen yet that is bad but the Catholic Church, the largest pedohile group in the world, is a good thing.
Anyways, did you know in a PG-13 show you can say the F word once in a non sexual way?
Also, if you don't want your kids to hear bad words shove a screw driver into their ears to make them go deaf. if you don't want them to see anything you deem offensive tear their eyes out. Other then that through life they will ehar and see things that you might deem as offensive.
Oh, in Texas they're trying to ban a book about banning books(F 451) because it has someone saying God Damn. That's right, banning a book about banning books.
Or in the South when HP6 came out there were several injuries. Not trampled to get to the book but burns. Why? They were burning books and these people are so stupid they'd burn themselves while trying to burn HP6. Because they find the book offensive. |

Your post gave me a bad case of tl;dr before, but I went back and read through it in case Lakilester13 was actually making a relevant post regarding yours. Alas..

Haha. I remember the afterword of the edition that I read, something about how people had written Bradbury about it, complaining that he didn't have enough female/other minority characters; however, one of the points he made in the book was that a reason for censorship was that people were too afraid to offend minorities. _________________ Go Yankees! |
