Okay, I'll put it briefly: I'm writing this book and a particular section of the story is gonna be scary; I guess you could say it's a horror book (mostly sci-fi. but oh well...) However, I'm not quite sure how to start, I'm no good at making up scary stuff of my own...unless I get any freaky nightmares durin' the night. Has anyone else had any freaky nightmares recently or at all? I'm sure that using your replies as references will really help me think up some scary stuff. Also, if you wanna make any stories up, then sure, humor me if you wish. 8)
Thank you!

I understand; I don't necessarily need ALL the details. I've had nightmares like that, too, when I was little. I got two cats, and I've had one of them for about 11 or 12 years now. I grew up with her. I dunno what I'd do if anything were to happen to her. |

Well, I can't think of any nightmares that I've had, but mabye there should be a story about this certain beast that kills everyone and these people are trying their hardest to avoid the beast while the beast kills a lot of other people and destroys a lot of other stuff. Or mabye you could write about this girl who's trapped in a world full of demons and such until she gets back to the real world. I'm only suggesting these things, but you can do whatever you want because it's your book. |

Thank you for the suggestions. My storyline is a little unique, but you ARE on the right track of what it's about. The "bad guy" isn't necessarily a beast, but it's definitely of the supernatural. I'll keep your words in mind. Thanks. |

my scariest dream (i think) is after i watched aliens with my family (i was only 4 or 5 BTW) i dreamt that i was being chased by the alien around my chook yard, or a good friends chook yard, and it bit off my arm. i not sure if it was scary or not, because i am a very, very disturbed child lol (me is 12 BTW). i love horror movies, and what ever rating it is, i still watch it (R to MA to M, i never really go for those PG lovey dovey shit family movies) _________________ Hurhur. Heh, aliens; that's a classic. Yeah, I know what you mean; I love horror flicks, too. Family-based movies are all right, but nothing's better than a thriller. Thanks! |
A lot of my nightmares involve a vehicle I happen to be in that has no brakes...
I get those a lot too. :0 Either that, or I'm suddenly in a driverless car and can't seem to get out of the passenger seat to stop the car.
Anyway, I rarely have nightmares. I did have this starnge reoccurring dream 2 summers ago, though, where I was riding a horse down a river (there was a reason for this, but I won't bother), and I came to the creek behind my old house where I grew up, and on the bank was me, or someone who looked just like me, and she/it killed me. Somehow. And it was rather brutal. Somehow. I then woke up as some random person in some random culture and was killed in a way that person would be killed. I would then wake up and be killed again, only as a different person (Native American being killed by a buffalo soldier, Mexican being killed by Spaniard, American Revolution soldier getting killed on a battlefield, all these weird and random people dying historic deaths). Weird shit.
I had this dream, like, 5 times in a row.
Hmmm...some of my better dreams involved me being some weird creature in a black PVC suit. I had long claws and fangs D:
But I looked kind of like a werewolf-cat thing.
Nightmare creatures were Silent Hill-esque, missing limbs or facial features.
And of course, in a lot of my dreams there happen to be severed hands underneath water.
Wow, freaky! Severed body parts always make me nervous. There was this old game on Xbox called Morrowwind, one of those games where u create your own character and do whatever u want. At some point in the game, you can get attacked by this werewolf. If your character gets touched by it, he turns into a werewolf every night and changes back to normal during the day. You have to feed on any nearby humans to survive; otherwise, your health will just keep decreasing until it's game over for u.
Touzoku-joou, thanks to u too! Man, the crazy dreams people have. I've had occasions in nightmares too, where I just kept getting killed. It was messed up; I remember waking up one morning very confused. |

Interesting. I guess sometimes nightmares have happy endings, huh? I had a dream similar to that once, where I was falling from an extremely high distance. I woke up seconds before I struck the ground. |

i never have nightmares, i laugh at the scarey bits when i wake up, its only a nightmare if it scares you.
but i had this dream last night, it was realy cool everyone had these bbguns that had the same pain as regular guns just not deadly, everyone was running round school with them and i got shot loads of times and tried to finish myself off but i couldnt kill myself so i went on a not so murderous rampage |

One I had was walking through a forest really late at night, and something was following me. I turned around, but saw nothing. I kept walking, and I stopped at a lake. There were finned arms swimming around in it, and one grabbed my hand and shook it.
I walked around the edge of it, and I stopped at the small creek that fed it. I leaned over to look at my reflection, and I screamed because I was covered in blood.
I woke up and hit my head on the wall as I was turning over. |

I had a dream I was walking a large, agressive dalmation and I figured it would protect me since it was getting late. It started getting darker, and I glared at some guy in his truck who was looking at me funny. He got out, holding a big knife and started chasing me...the stupid dog just stood there. I banged on my door, but no one would let me in, and then I woke up and yelled "NO" angrily...lol.
Another dream I had, I heard someone in my house...so I grabbed my dog and started carrying him outside. There was no one around, and it was pitch black...I wandered around my street and heard something following me in the bushes, so I turned and started back to my house...and it was locked. I could still hear someone inside, and outside, and there was thunder and lightning. It was really freaky _________________ |

Wow, have u been playing Halo lately because I definitely see a resemblance between your dream and that game. Yeah, nightmares usually don't scare me, but if they're interesting enough, I like to keep them in mind.

An agressive dog that refuses to be there for you in your time of need; wow, that realli sucks. How come in nightmares, you're never armed with weapons when u need them? That second dream u had used to happen to me a lot. I'd usually find myself on a dark night and locked outside my house. Instead of thunder and lightning however, I was burdened with an oncoming tornado.

Sounds freaky, although the hitting ur head against the wall part made it humorous |

I don't have dreams or nightmares very often but I do remember running away from girl who wanted to kill me or something. They catched up with me, one girl held me so I couldn't move and the other girl had a butcher knife. I woke up when the blade was about to touch my belly and rip it open oO |
