From what I've gathered, most of the previous generations have been religious, although I can only find out from speaking with my elders and reading books. I find it rather interesting to see how America appears to have a lot more athiests and wiccans, I myself am an athiest by my own choice (and somewhat nervous to tell my Catholic grandmother). Any other speculations on this topic? And I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I considered putting it in politics at first. |

There are shit loads of "wiccans" here. Just about every white teenager claims to be wiccan or pagan or some shit that's mystical and "unique." My town has the supposedly underground shop called the Magic Cauldron. Lol. They sell Wiccan books and ritual crap and even celtic weaponry and.. and... T-SHIRTS.
haha, I knew someone who said he was a wizard. it's ridiculously funny. But, nothing beats the laugher that is the market for this stuff. For a religion, you sure do have to spend a lot of money on robes, wands, chalices, herbs, butterfly's, etc to "believe" in a goddess _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

America practices mostly Catholisism. Lots of Protestants and all that. Isn't Wiccan a sub-religion anyway? _________________ |

Yeah. But it's what kids turn to when they go rebellious. Not just Atheism, not believing in a god isn't enough anymore. You gotta believe there is a god for trees to, if you wanna be hip nowadays. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Well, I'm really talking about the increase in athiest and wiccans, dunno much about the history of wicca so I can't answer that. (By the way, America has more Protestants than Catholics)
Unfocused, I agree fully. I began to wonder not long after noticing lots of Wiccans... Why change your religion? Sure, switching is ok (I wasn't an athiest all my life) but its like a fad to be Wiccan, there isn't any reason to switch aside from the fact that its cool.
Do these kids honestly believe in the goddess? |

Increase in atheists in America? Really? I was under the impression that we're having some sort of religious revival. _________________ Go Yankees! |

Actually, it turns out I was wrong
Maybe I just thought that there were a lot of us cause all of my friends (I dunno how that happened) are either athiests or just not very religious
I talked to four girls today, they were all creationists |
