I've read first 100 pages in a single sitting.
It's about two boys in Afghanistan just before the Soviet Invasion. One boy is a native Pastun, the ruling ethnicity and the other is a Haraza, a mongoloid (lol asian) ethnicity in Afghanistan who is a remnant of Ghenghis Khan's golden horde. The Harazan boy is a servant to the Pashtun boy. Epic melodrama insues.
This book is extremely smooth read, seeing as it doesn't have half the dialogues as other books, and I love that. I was hoping for a bit more magical realism but this is okay, one can't read about babies being eaten by ants all the time...
I like this book much better than the book I finished yesterday, Haroun and the Sea of Stories, what a puddle of piss, that one is a saggy bag of dicks compared to Rushidie's other books, such as the Booker prize winner like the Midnights' Children.
Anyway, who ever read the book? _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |
