I loved the attention to detail in spirited away. The story was a little bit wierd but I liked it. The characters are what stick in my mind, the little ash things, the three severed heads, the giant baby, they are all cool.

Yeah I bought it a while back ... which is very unlike me (to buy anime). I thoroughly enjoyed it and cause of that I'll probably buy more.

No I didn't...But thats only because it wasn't. It was made in 2001.

In '91 Miyazaki was busy making Porco Rosso.

I guess the only reason I liked it was beacause it was really fun to see in theatres. Porco Rosso was my favorite of the Ghibli collection. Miyazaki's always had a way to portray flight extremely well.

Oh God I love that movie! x3! It's definetly my favorite Miyazaki film. ^_^ The story is so good... >w<.

The only thing that I didn't like was the ending. ;_; But alas, it's not like Chihiro could have stayed in the spirit world. *sigh* lol.

Ahhh yes. One of my favourite anime movies. Miyasaki is a genius of his craft...he never ever disappoints with his films and though some are better than others, none are bad...nope. Not by any means. ^_^

But I digress. There was something just so charming about the whole storyline, though her parents turning into pigs was painfully realistic...though that I guess was the whole point. Shocked me at first and I really felt out of my depth and along, watching Chihiro try to find her parents amongst the stalls when the spirits were arriving. It really drew you into the storyline from the very beginning and I found it extraordinarily easy to warm to Chihiro.

And the music. Could it *be* more beautiful? :wub: *swoons* I've ben considering buying the soundtrack, but I'm not sure how "samey" it will be. Anyone got it and know?

Love
~Forest

Spirited Away is my favorite out of all of the Miyazaki films (it was actually hard to choose due to the fact that they are all awesome). I've never seen anything like it. The attention to detail in the backgrounds and the animation is simply mind-boggling. 8D It was really hard not getting attached to the characters. :)

I never saw anything strange about it though. It didn't surprise me one bit when Chihiro's parents turned to pigs. I sort of felt they deserved it. XD

i also enjoyed the music. (Especially the dragon scene one, I don't know what it's called. . .). Try checking Amazon.com or something along those lines for the soundtrack. Smile

All of Miyazaki films just blow me away. I cannot choose a favorite. Spirited Away was the second one I saw, after I watched Princess Mononoke. The movie I liked more then the other was none other than: Howls Moving Castle. It was so beautifuly done...arrgh. I love them all. D;
