.hack Question...

^^ i got a ps2! yeah!....

but i and my sister are debating something...
okay here it is!...

in one of the dot hack games (i think outbreak)
is it possible to have the characters from dot hack sign on your party?

i saw something on the internet that said you could... i saw a screen cap!!!
but my sister says no its just "memory" ..... but i saw the screen cap!!!

so the question is... is it true that you can get .hack//sign characters like Tsukasa or even Mimiru to give you their member address?? :wacko: in one of the .hack games??

and in which game??

However the church area that BlackRose takes you near the start will later on show flashbacks from .hack//SIGN but I never saw the show so I didn't pay attention.

Okay, I've completed the game, so I'll tell you this. It's not much of a spoiler, but anyway, read at your own discretion. :/

You can only get them after you've completed the games, 1 through 4. Not only that, but through your entire time playing you MUST have seen EVERY single scene cut with the .hack//SIGN characters. These cut scenes are only availiable when you have finished the second .hack game, and must be viewed in an certain order (ie the second cut scene isn't availiable until you have found the first, the third cut scene isn't availiable until you've seen the second, etc.).

Also, you must have finished a certain side quest in one of the games before you can get Sora. (Must receive the rare weapon, "Sora's Blades")

Then when you finish the game, these characters are availiable to you: Helba sends you an email with the member addresses of herself (but she's really cheap to use, lol. maxed out 99 in every stat), Tsukasa, Subaru, and Sora.

Tsukasa and Subaru both come at level 5 or so, while Sora is more around level 90. Sora's affection level is easy to raise, while Tsukasa's is definitely the hardest.

Debate over whether these characters are memories are not have been argued by many people.

Short debate spoilers (highlight to read, spoilers for the anime AND the game):

Just a note: If you give Sora's blades back to him, nothing happens, as far as I know. The AI in the game will always equipt the character's strongest weapon. I don't think you get any cut scenes or wallpapers or anything for giving the weapon back. I'd just keep it just to say you have it, lol.

because...
-i saw all the memories in the church.
-found all the memories in the different servers.
-i have bt's wand, tskasa wand, silver knights sword, mimirus sword,
but i dont think i have soras blades
is there something i missed??

I'm not sure, but I think the side quest with Sora's Blades is only accessible in the third or fourth game. Also, I think you must complete some of the other side quests in order to activate the one with Sora. ^^; I can't be sure; that's the best I can give you (I haven't played the games in quite a long time).

Well, I thought that .hack//tasogare no udewa densetsu was good, even if it didn't follow the manga at all... I was glad because the characters were so cute! And it took away from the heavy drama of SIGN and made it a lot more enjoyable. ^^;

Speaking of .hack//SIGN... Never finished it. I don't particularily like this anime, I find it's quite boring and extremely overrated. :/
