Best genre? I guess games where one would do alot of exploring, like RPG, adventure, platform type stuff? Other than that, the beat 'em up genre will always stay in my heart. I like to learn the moves of characters, see.

It's hard to pick a "best genre," as lots of genres have a few very good games, but lots of very crappy games.

Here are genres that I do not like: musical/rhythm, card, shooting games where you're.. inside a vehicle (like Starfox), dating sims, flight sims, racing, "party" games for people who don't normally play games, sports, RANDOM ENCOUNTER games (like Final Fantasy).

Wow. I take it you would like a beat 'em up type game, then?

Probably shooters - the multiplayer seals the deal.

But damn if there aren't some horrible FPS games out there.

*sobs* I can never love again.

Nothing against good RPGs - I just can't stand random encounters, meaningless item collection, and mundane stories.

I want a new Chrono Trigger.

I hate FPS games, because they make me feel queezy. If only they added an option for a third person view, I might consider... but, then, they will no longer be called FPS games, right? It's that camera motion, see, that's what makes me queezy. Ugh.

That would suck hardcore. Although if you give games like Unreal Tournament or the Quake 3 variants a try, you can use console commands to shift the view to third-person. Really useful.

I love Age of Empires. Usually I end up with a huge ass army of villagers capable of repairing wall/gate damage faster than the enemy can deal it.

@Jedi, I get that way too, if I play FPS for too long (like, half an hour+ without a break).

Survival horror games. They have action, decent story lines, and they scare the crap out of you. I'm also a fan of the RPG's. Legend of Dragoon. They need to remake that game....*sigh*
