Actually this may be an insult to most but I find the (older) Harry Poter books are quite boaring. i enjoy reading Documentary and informational books on some of my favorite bands. Lol I'm a music junkie.

It'd have to be all novels of Stephen King, Eragon and Eldest, and the Lector series.

I read too much to pick a favorite book Very Happy

But if i had to pick a favorite author then i'd be hardpressed to choose between Michael Stackpole, Michael Crichton, and Terry Goodkind

As for books, I'll go with ones that either I've read recently or i've read multiple times and there's a list...

Sword of Truth series - Terry Goodkind
New Jedi Order series - various authors including RA Salvatore and Michael Stackpole
Merlin Trilogy - Mary Stewart
Sphere, Jurassic Park trilogy, Great Train Robbery - Micheal Crichton
Various other Star Wars books (I've read probably 80% of them)
Le Morte D'Arthur - Sir Thomas Mallory
Man in the Iron Mask - Alexandre Dumas
Treasure Island, Kidnapped - Robert Lewis Stevenson (I think... it's been a while)
d*mn... list goes on and on... *rollz eyez*

It's a very very good depiction of the Legend of King Arthur given by first person perspective of Merlin. She definately did her research and dug alot deeper than most historians. Sir Thomas Mallory's work is too unreal and romantic based from the chivalry of the 15th century when it was written. Mary Stewart went beneath the romantic bullcrap from the renaissance and acutally pulled the legends from the Ancient Celts and tied it in to history. It's an excellent piece of work but still is mostly fiction Razz

I doubt someone will answer this but I have to ask, Have any of you read

I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole?

I know you're probably not interested in star wars but i'm a fan and this book is one of the books in my collection that i've stopped counting how many times i've read the book but rather, how many times i've bought it lol. I've bought it 12 times... i've read it almost over a 100 it's a great great book imho... but then again, i'm a star wars fan soo... whatever Very Happy

The Evergence Trilogy is pretty good. Phillip Pullmans His Dark Materials. Anything post apocalyptic is awesome.

Dark Season- Russell T Davies and it's based on the old TV series. Read it dozens of times and I still have it after over ten years!
The Shadow League Trilogy- Maggie Furey
The Harry Potter series- JK Rowling
The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, Deception Point- Dan Brown
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Star Wars: Jedi Academy Trilogy- Kevin J Anderson
