You know, i used to could spend all day on this site reading stuff cuz there would be fifteen million conversations happening at once, at 12:05 PM i'm the only one logged in and there hasn't been a new post in over like 12 hours.

I've read everything i care to read... and half of the crap that i don't. and now i'm inexplicably bored... what happened to this rebellion we was talking about. If i am the only one on, then who do i talk to to get the 14 year old anime idiots who can't draw and don't understand manga was started by western art and not by the crap from japan that lately all looks the same... hey wait am i quoting jay again... yea what he said, i'm lazy
don't understand manga was started by western art
I do not understand. How was manga STARTED by western art and NOT Japan? If you mean it has reached a greater popularity in the west compared to Japan, then yes. But.....what?

manga was started in the 1870s by one japanese artist who tried it and then a british magazine that made it popular.

When manga hit mainstream it was because of western art comic prodominantly from dark horse that pushed the opening of japanese art making it into american markets. Without those original batman, superman, spiderman and whatnot comics, american markets would have never went out on a limb to try to sell some of the japanese comics. In the mid 1990s japanese art exploded and has been around ever since.

i won't dis most anime cuz i don't watch half of it and that's a personal thing... (i's too old for cartoons Razz)

As far as the books are concerned however, i miss the 1970s western art books that had more detail in one frame than most manga books i've looked at have in the entire story...

Also, don't judge, i'm a fan of realism so... there ya go

No worries, I am not judging. I was just confused in what you were saying about the origin of manga because it was a indisputable fact that manga, or a Japanese graphic novel, was first created in Japan and not the West. Western comics that housed famous superheros like Superman, Batman, and Spiderman may have jump-started its popularity, but they were certainly not the starting. Then again, I guess I should have just read between the lines to understand what you were saying. ;/

if you're talking about dragonball z that i still don't understand or half of the other anime stuff... man... what happened to iron man?

oh that's right, they're making movies now...

speaking of which... deadpool movie... wish they would hurry the hell up with it...

I remember the old Batman "The Animated Series" that would get away with fun stuff like this: ;]

http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=TYSNUL2hrQM

Also maybe X-Men. But that is it. ]; I am unfortunately in the younger generation with the kids that grow up with...Naruto.

Dragonball Z was the shonen manga of its time....or so I thought. The male anatomy was incredibly off.

Personally, i thought the whole series sucked but then again i only watched about 3 or 4 episodes. I could not find a tangible storyline to the show nor could i figure out what the background setting was other than a confusing twist of let's fight and i'll win... and you'll come back next episode and we'll fight again... boring...

@London - which capt america... didn't he die like five times?

Anyone remember Gargoyles? God I love that show, twas teh epicness. Demona and Xanatos were badass. I wish they would show that more during the day instead of Phinias and Pherb D;

@@ London again... correct me if i'm wrong but end credits of Iron Man 2... Thor's next... Personally, I think Capt America will be the next one after that to initiate the Avenger's movie... go for super soldier serum (say that five times fast)

@ Sarah... Phinias and Pherb made me lose braincells when my neice and nephew watch it. Never again. Gargoyles... i think i was in iraq when that came and went...

Ah but they still show it late at night on Disney XD. Just gotta be quick to catch it.

Aladdin the series, I miss that, I dont love it as much as I do Gargoyles but I would rather it be on instead of Zeke and Luther -gag-

Sorry to break the conversation. But I remember when there were more people here as well. On other forums I have FAC in my signiture, I also have tried to get some of my friends who are into art to join. They say yes at first but then they just never join.
I just hope to see over 400 people on this site at once.

Man, if you say Green Lantern or Captain Marvel, then some clarification is needed, but I'd think Captain America by default still means Steve Rogers, even if someone else is running around in his costume for now.

Deadpool is alright. I like his team ups with characters I like, but by himself, he's not that interesting.

@ London last one i read with Capt America, he got shot coming out of the Avengers hq... but then Bucky put on the outfit... but yea

Deadpool did some awesome team ups but his smart mouth is what makes him hilarious to read...

Have to say though, Iron Man was always my favorite... in the latest he's in charge of the Avengers Very Happy

Gargoyles?! ;-; Sarah, I thought I was the only one who remembered that show. I remember recording it, and staring really close to the monitor. It was an awesome show, and the beginning was kind of dramatic. IT just kind of came and went though. I thought no one would know about it.

You know, I freakin loved the movies. The other marvel movies didn't have such a fun and witty main character. Although Spiderman was kind of close, but he got annoying by the 3rd movie. Robert Downey Jr. Laughing

RDJ is super hot for a short, pale guy. That and Don Cheadle were the only reasons IM2 was watchable. The first one was.. I think alright, but I only saw it once, and I don't really remember it well enough to say anything meaningful.

I liked Iron Man back when he was still sharing Tales of Suspense with Captain America. Once he got his own book, it started going downhill. His ego is too huge and his drinking problem got boring after the fifth straight issue or so of lounging around useless and drunk. At one point I honestly hoped he would die so Rhodey could take over as Iron Man. His stance in that Civil War nonsense didn't help.

He's been better in recent Avengers. I haven't been keeping up with his own mag, but from what I hear the writing is pretty shitty and he looks completely different (but consistently ugly) panel to panel.

I liked the Spider-Man movies, even though movie-Peter and comic-Peter are completely different people. In terms of loyalty to source material, I think the F4 movies did the best.
