I'm actually going to go for the good guitarist because in the final years of his life, he showed more skill. I was listening to the Unplugged album, and I saw more skill in that than ever. Kurt's final recording wasn't bad either.
I know he wasn't the best, but is it possible he was better than what people give him credit for?
I'm saying yes as of this moment because he showed skill on that Unplugged C.D. He sounded better acoustic than he did electric. _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Skill-wise he was shit when compared to others of his legendary status. I'm sure he was probably capable of more, the simple guitar had a purpose. So in that sense you could say he was great. But for all the credit he gets, far overrated. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Some 'scientists', whoever these people are, believe Kurt Cocobean (hehe me n my mates made that up.. i think ) Erm.. Yeah they believe people like CocoBean, The Doors, The Beatles, Hendrix; even James Hetfield have somewhat strokes of genious within them.. You know these fantastic bands and frontmen who just come up with groundbreaking new ideas and rules and ways of life.. It's a good thought.. I like to think Kurt (etc) was a genious in his own right..
They also think he may have killed himself 'cause at the point in his career, he had experienced everything he could (or at least everything he wanted to).. He toured everywhere, he changed the lives of millions, he did what he loved as a job, he had a child, he had an almost perfect life had he been able to control it more.. the feeling of completion possibly drove him to ending his life there and then cause what goes up must come down.. I mean the amount of tranqs in him could have stunned a small horse but the dude pulled the trigger...
I still think he was murdered though.. <_<

"We've had our share of problems with so-called 'alternative bands'. What is this word? I mean, I even find myself using it...'alternative'. Like, someone who leads an 'alternative lifestyle'. All I know is that when Guns n' Roses started, ain't no fuckin' radio stations wanted to play our shit, either. Ain't no radio stations wanted to play Metallica. So I think we have the world's largest alternative crowd here tonight. I think that the...the problem starts when, uh, you start thinkin' that you're different than everybody else on the fuckin' planet. You may be a little different in what you're doin', or how you're goin' about doin' it, but I got a good feeling that... you're probably a human. Right? You're probably a human being. And so right now, "alternative", only thing that means to me is someone like Kurt Cobain and "nerve-anna", who is basically just a fuckin' junkie with a junkie life. And if the baby's born deformed, I think they both oughtta go to prison, that's my feeling. And...he's too good, and too cool, to bring his rock n' roll to you. Because the majority of you he doesn't like, or want to play to, or even have you like his music. It seems to be a general feeling among a lot of 'alternative bands' that they don't want the majority of people even liking them, they like it on the outside."
~ Axl Rose, who is still alive but you're welcome to join the pool for how and when he'll go out with a bang, so to speak...
Not that that had much to do with anything. Nor is it a neutral opinion, since everyone should know the happy times shared between those two. But I like that stage rant. There's another good one about Bon Jovi, but I'll wait for a thread about pussy fluff-metal bands to whip that one out.
