Bah, this could fit in so many forums, but I think its topic is best suited here and will be seen by the right people. A friend of mine has been begging for a drawing of Ziggy Stardust and Iggy Pop for a long time, and I finally told her I would, given the time. Now I need to find good (that's the key word) pictures of them together. Never thought it would be as hard as it's turning out to be.

So if anyone has any or knows of any or can find any good Ziggy and Iggy pictures...please help! Smile

lol iggy pop is so funny looking. um i'll look for pics now, but do you only need pics of them together, or will separate pics do, also?

((later))

hmm this site has many ziggy stardust pictures. the "portraits" link probably has the best to use, because they're clearer and close up.
The Ziggy Stardust Companion

and if you click "photos" at Iggy Pop, The Rock Iguana, there are several photos separated by date

ziggy stardust pics: Ziggy Stardust Tours (1970s)

many iggy pop pictures at Iggy Pop at musicpictures.com

er you probably know all of those sites already, but i hope i was able to help. the only picture i could find that actually had iggy pop and ziggy stardust together is this one with lou reed

Yeah, that's the only one I could find of them together also. Sad I assume there's probably more in the book, but that's a bit of a large price to pay for a frickin' reference. *sigh* Separate will have to do. Gracias for the good links.

Edit: hm, now...any ideas about how I should put them together and make it appropriate for kiddies? Razz

Hope so. On a related note, I'm seeing Bowie with the person this is for on April 13th. Wee. Very Happy

Haha, you know that actually is a very good (and simple) way to get backstage at shows (I know of at least a few people who on a regular basis show up early with their painting or whatnot, hold it up, and say "I'm here to give this to _______". Ta da!), but I highly doubt I'll be trying it. He's a busy boy preshow n' I'll be with other people anyway. Damn. Another time perhaps. I'd much rather watch his show from the audience instead of the side of the stage, anyway.

lol really? that's so cool. hmmm gives me all the more incentive to actually learn how to draw realism. with a few years of practice, eventually i should be able to meet dave grohl, john cusack, seth green, and dave foley. hmmf most of the other people i've drawn are dead...

that's very considerate of you to not bother him before the show. heh there'll be plenty of other screaming fans to do that for you, i'm sure. and tis tru, the view from the audience is much better than from the side

Oh yes, very considerate. A "sod off" is not exactly the reaction I look for when meeting people. Razz It depends on the artist and venue whether or not bringing art will get you back, but it usually does. Provided you're early enough and the artist isn't already preparing, people already being let in, n' all the other times security's on alert and everyone's busy. But if it's around setup time, showing up out back and finding someone other than local security (also depending on the person, since some tour managers and head security are pricks) they're happy to take you back. And especially in the case of artists you have no interest, uh, "getting friendly with" it's a lot nicer to show up with a gift of sorts than just "uh...hi...I'm a fan." Big venues (like Bowie's playing the Rose Bowl) are probably different now what with terrorism...but if they'll let hot chicks back...why not the chick dragging around a canvas?

Hm, that could also work to your advantage in the cases you do have interest in "getting to know" the person better. Makes you look less like a slut that does every musician that comes through town...not that most care either way. Rolling eyes
