I haven't had any fiction stolen, but I've found a few of my non-fiction articles where they shouldn't be.
I would feel truly honored that someone would think my story was that good enough to steal
The problem is, aside from the natural instinct that you'd like the credit for your own work, you have no control at all over what's done with it. For example, an article I wrote about lie detectors was copied by a site dealing with defending oneself from abuse allegations. They credited me, but if they'd asked to use my work I would have said no, as the article I wrote was a layperson's guide, and also included information about ways to cheat a test.
The other main problem is that once your work is out there under someone else's name you'd have a devil of a time proving you wrote it, should someone accuse you of plagarising.

I just got a e-mail today (not sure if that's when she sent it) saying that Youkai Yume just got one of her drawings stolen! She's really good so I can see why someone would want to steal anything from her! But she has been stolen from before. ( Her fanfiction ) Like " Forgoten memories " and others but I can't remember...I have never had that done to me before...my fics aren't good enough I guess ^_^ |

Plagurism is just stupid, and not to mention illegal..
as soon as you post something online, it is copyrighted to you, despite whether it says it or not. plaguirism is illegal, and if it weren't for the fact that these stories were fanfiction, reproductions of another's work, and not original fiction, otherwise stealing a fic would be illegal. |

I had a girl steal scenes from one of my stories ("Expecation" - an Inuyasha fic) and include it in her own. The dialogue was almost identical, with a word or two changed here and there. It was a real shame, too, because up until that point, she'd been writing her own story. At least, I think she was... |

o.o you never know...
luckily, i write non-mainstream anime fiction, so that lessens my chance of having fic-parts stolen, not to mention most of my fics are damn confusing if you just pull out one part... |
