OMG!!! RAP SUXORZ!! LOL!!!111

ok here's the just of it:

rockers hate rap because it takes no talent other than being able to rhyme (taught in kindergarten) and spitting out lyrics really fast. rap has climed up on the music charts at an alarming rate, and has gained popularity at way too high of a rate for rockers to comprehend. they're upset that their precious styx and ratm is being beaten-out by a bunch of black gangsters in heavy clothing.

but think about all the hip-hop artists there are today at the top of the charts, think of all the rap artist there are today at the top of the charts. now think of how many rockers there are... not many, eh? well obviously rap is more popular in the music industry than rap. you hardly ever hear about it online since people who listen to hip-hop and rap tend to be more social and hardly waste time online. people who listen to rock are just the opposite.

that's about the just of it, personally i prefer rock to rap and hip hop. but this isn't to say this applies to every rocker out there (even some may deny that this is true), just my take on this whole fued.

talent is the issue here, not necessarially quality of music. some of nelly's stuff is top-notch, some of led zepplin's stuff is infused with a inferno of talent and collaboration. i don't like nelly all too much, and i'll be damned if i listen to led zepplin 24/7.

:D

prepare to be flamed by the less-nice people on fac. enjoy your stay!
Most of the rock bands like Good Charlotte and bands like them talk about the same whiny little stuff from what I've heard them sing.
And you realize MTV rock babies are the equivalent of those crappy rap acts you mentioned, right? Just checking...

I don't like rap. Just a personal style choice. I don't like the simple beats and lack of vocal...don't want to say talent, but you know what I mean. No singing, just spoken melody. Don't like the image, most of it is street shit that I don't dig.

I don't have anything really against it, except the same thing I have against current MTV rock artists. BUT, you made the same judgements about rock as you criticized other people for doing to rap. Rock is faaaaar from all about teen angst. Good rock doesn't have much angst at all. It covers every topic out there, from bangin' chicks, to doing lines of blow, to suicide, to space missions, to absent fathers, to crazy parties, to minimum wage jobs, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

And I'm sure rap is about more than bitches and hos, but that's what's on MTV, and most rock on MTV right now is whining. But 20 years ago it was all girls and parties. Just different.

Anyone who says rap takes no talent really needs to have the ignorant s**t-kicked outta them.

Talent is required. And I'm not talking about the chart toppers. Eminem (Encore), Nelly , 50 cent ... etc... are the ones that are giving you this bad impression. Why? Because they suck. It's like once they have the fame and cash they just give up and put out any piece of garbage they can produce make a few bucks.

Honestly I'm so sick of the rap topics. No need to even create them. Everytime you do all you get is this: 95% of fac saying it takes no talent to rap and that axl is god. 4% saying they love rap because eminem and that clown from WWE are the sh*t. 1% fighting the good fight... Smile

EDIT: Yeah, I love him, but for those who haven't heard either of those... they both suck so much ass.

Although you're entitled to your opinion, please stop going on and on about how much it "sucks" unless you have specific reasons (and not just "it takes no talent"). We get your point, and it's not fair to people who actually like it. Plus they've already admitted MTV rap blows, so unless you want to go out and research lesser known acts...

If you all think Eminem is cool........ then any opinion you have regarding any type of music means nothing.
I like to point out that eminem is cool, I don't really like him but if I HAVE to listin to rap it would be eminem....XD
If you HAVE to listen to rap...... why would you listen to eminem? He isn't rap. Eminem is the male equivalent of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilara.
my friends say that it all will be gone in bout 50 years, and rock n some metal are gonne be back!
Your friend has what we call ... the brain damage.
We get your point, and it's not fair to people who actually like it.
Yeah.... all one of us.

There were more... I think they say "fuck it" and leave shortly after they show up.

Ya know, make a thread if you like it, but I don't bother making threads about things I like, either. Even if they weren't ignored, it would be all "who? ", "they look like fags" and "dude, those guys suck!" without ever actually hearing a single song. Rolling eyes
