I thought it was good, some of the initial scenes of the storm hit rather close to home, them wading through hip-deep water and all. I didn't see it in theatres, I rented it about a week after Tropical Storm Ivan came through (it was down to tropical storm by the time it hit Pittsburgh) and it looked a lot like the stuff on the news from the weekend before. Kinda weird. There were some parts...like, when he drew the line across the map and said evacuate everyone below the line (I'd be dead! ), and when all the people left the library and knowing they were all gonna die, and the very end when the survivors came out on top of the roofs of the buildings. You can see how few people survived the storm, and when you compare that to the number of people who live in Manhattan... *shakes head* It was really good.
Ok, now what do you think, Katie? |

I'm not a fan, but it was good. I thought it would be very intense and I was so excited, but alll in all, it was sorta boring. I don't know don't ask me, I think all movies are boring!
My favorite was the bum too, he was AWESOME! GO BUMS! |

I thought it was very exciting. Well, maybe not in an action-packed sort of way, but very tense. It just does not let up! I loved that. |

I thought it was just allright to me it though it seemed to be one of those "Weeee! Lookit how many pretty special effects we can make. SHINY!" sort of movies. But that's just my opinion. _________________

True, there was a good bit of that. And the wolves...*wince* They could've been much better. They didn't look or move realistically imho. |

I know the wolves were computerized, but they still looked like crap. CG technology has come so far that I was very disappointed. They were just not up to par |

One thing I didn't like about the movie...I don't think diving through the roof of a Wendys and turning up the stoves would've saved them from that kind of cold. They would've been flash-frozen. |

It was an alright movie, I guess. (just saw it this past weekend) I was hoping for more excitement and such because of all the hype I've heard about it, but I set my expectations too high. Instead of "a totally awesome movie, one of the best!" feeling like people I know had, I got a "Ok movie..." feeling. I agree that the wolves weren't spectacular, and the movie would do well without them. They were rather pointless, really.
But that'd be really freaky if it were to happen, tho. (like in a matter of 3 days or whatever)
I'd be dead for sure, tho. Right smack dab in the middle of Canada, I live.
I liked that dude with the dog tho. He gave the movie a comic relief type thing. |

Yeah, I know they did have a role and all, but I think th movie coulda fared without them.
That scene, in my opinion, wasn't that exciting with the wolves. I think they (the movie producer dudes) coulda thought of something better to do for that to make it more thrilling.
What could they do? I dunno. I don't make movies. ^_^ |

Well, they could've made them look like real wolves instead of kinda plasticy CG models that didn't move quite right. <_< |

I have no problem with the use of wolves in the movie, it's just I think the CG could've been done better. Look at the other movies that use CG creatures, they're incredibly realistic. I just thought the wolves weren't up to par with what current technology can produce. And I would never suggest using real wolves, that would be far to dangerous to the actors. I don't think that part of the movie needed the added tension, there was enough with the chick getting septic poisoning and the impending flash freeze of the city. |

Painfull true. I don't know what that thing was, but it sure wasn't a wolf. I'm not even sure it was canine.
And yeah, movie as a whole is awesome. |

Day After tomorrow sucked ass. Those big disaster movies are always the same. Some big shot guy doesn't believe the warnings..... gets proved wrong... never seen that happen.... Bad acting - Seriously now... Bubble boy is the lead.. what can you expect? A crappy lil romance builds between characters...... And there was little story to work with... I suppose it was thought that with some special effects... who needs story? This movie was just .. plain boring. All of these 'the earth is gonna end omg' movies need to come to an end. Or at least if they have to make movies like this... Try to throw in something new. Mix it up a lil.
Anyone who likes this movie might as well waste their money on The Core as well. Same kinda movie, same problems (bad acting etc..).. only difference being the cast of the core is extremly unattractive. _________________ |
