We've heard that Yasser Arafat has died. We all know him as a rather, well, strange man, and he died after a very long illness. Now, there are theories, but one seems to strike me as the more plausible one.
Arafat contracted AIDS.
Why? He liked to have fun with his bodyguards. So the theory states.
Other theories are that he was poisoned. That he was slipped some poison with his food.
Either way, he has to be succeeded by someone. Who that person shall be is going to change something. Will the outcome of the war be turned?
I highly doubt it. It's emotional, not political, but even so, can this person make a difference?
But I suppose some good things will come of this. But if Arafat was a homosexual...
He's created a terrible taboo in the Arab world. Not a big deal for us, but for them, it's unacceptable, and you can't change their opinions.
So give us your's. What will happen? Why did he die? Is there a plausible answer and can you back it up? _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

i could care less why he died or how he died. its not like his death was important or anything... sure he was the leader of palestein, but woopdie-freakin-doo,. his nobel peace prize was a mistake too.
besides, i would rather not think about some 75 year old dude knocking up his body gaurds... |

It does make a difference. Palestein and Israel have been feuding for years over the holy land. When I heard of Arafat's death, who would succeed him was the first thing I thought of. Who ever it is, they probally won't do anything about the constant bombings. I'd be surprized if they would. _________________ |

I doubt 2004 will be different from any other year. Israel and Palestein have been fighting forever. Violence is human nature. Look back at Alex the Great and King Arthur. War has been going on for centuries. I doubt the world will ever see peace. As nice as world peace sounds, it ain't ever gonna happen, so those Miss America models can just shut the hell up. We need to look toward more reasonable goals, like trying to lower the crime rates in individual nations first. _________________ |

Arafat was confined in a small and hotel room for the last couple of years, and that stressed the health of an old man too much. Little fresh, bad hygienes, a lot of stress (being surrounded by tanks will do that to you). That's perhaps not the direct cause of his death, but it certainly played a big part in it. |

yes, arafat storms refugee camps with tanks and gets told by the UN to stop his disproportionate retalliations... oh wait... Both sides need to change, not blaming the problem on just one side. |

Israel and Palestein have been fighting forever. Violence is human nature.
you mean since 1960s?
...
and, no ,Violence is human nature but showing it and not controlling it , IS NOT.
Ever hear of exaggeration? 40+ years is still a long time to be blowing people up. It may not be as long as the hundred years war or whatnot, but regardless it is still longer than anyone cares to deal with.
As for violence... "Violence is human nature but showing it and not controlling it , IS NOT" Wtf? How can someone be violent without showing it? Ooo... I'm going to think evil, destructive thoughts about people, but that's okay 'cause the world's one big sunshiny ball of sh*t. We'll all live happy, peaceful little lives while secretly wanting to kill each other. Violence isn't all meaningless war and pain. People are violent every now and then just to release stress. If we weren't violent, it'd build up and we'd all have to deal with pent up anger. Violence is human nature, but civilization has allowed us to control that violence to a certain degree. That doesn't make us any less human, and as we all know humans are imperfect. We all make mistakes. Don't tell me you've never punched or kicked anything before, even if it's inanimate. _________________ |
