What Is Art On This Site?

OK First off I don't want to come off as a little jerk that is winuing about scribbles on the site. I'm an art student and know where talent comes from, and where to look for it. I spent my free time drawing what i want and brousing the added pictures. I'm all good with most of what is on the site but i don't thing that some people can read or has an idea of what there doing.

One, what the heck is somthing like thid doing on the site example one I don't mean to pick or anything but come on in what form can this be considered FANART? Grr!

Bravo you did you HW nice going, hand it in to your teacher not us.

I don't mean to pick on any one directly but i'm just using some peole as examples.

Two, isn't this site up to show off one's art? photos are good and all, I am a photo major, but isn't the work that's being posted,... shouldn't is be drawn or painted in one why or another. digitaly drawn or painted of the old fation why? Why am i seeing self portaits that are photography :huh: . I think you get the point of what i'm talking about.

But i don't blame member who post, it's not your falt somthing that you post, that isn't Fanart or an art, but the Admins who don't filter out the not acceptable vs the acceptable.

The admins have a tough job on their hands, filtering as many as 600 pictures a day. A few slips here and there are understandable, especially given the sheer weight that they handle.

If you think something is violating the code, report it. We've discussed this sort of thing on the forums before, and I'm almost positive that people know what is and what isn't art thanks to the handy-dandy FAQ, but sometimes it slips by even the most trained of admins simply because they're tired.

And while I agree that a graph like that isn't art, and really doesn't belong here... you know, that's just my opinion. The mods and the admins have the final say.

...I'm not sure I understand. There shouldn't be photography on the site. If you find some, report it. However, some may be left over from the days when there was no approval panel. Just as there's some art on lined paper and such.

With the sheer amount of images uploaded daily, mistakes will happen. Report them, and they'll be removed.

To report a drawing/photo/whatever, send a PM to a mod or an e-mail to abuse@fanart-central.net . Do NOT make it public in the forum, or you're going to get chewed out and the thread closed.

Also, several of the more longstanding FAC members have earned the "auto approval" feature, i.e. they're trusted enough that their drawings are approved automatically, no waiting period involved. Thus, it may be that the approval panel never saw this drawing while taking their tours through the queue....

Yes, mistakes happen.

What exactly is wrong with both of those? Those are drawn, original pieces you know. I can see why the cloud one would be there but those? The last one is really impressive.

Genka what i was talking about is that i have seen recent submitions that where photo's. and yes some of the member are stupid.

To tell the truth i never knew that the was an auto-approval system

azure-draco i was giving examples of DRAWINGS that where aceptable, i refused to link any of the million sonic pictures.

The approval system is only a year old, be sure to check dates.

Some AP members (usually new ones who don't last long) don't pay too close attention when they're approving.
Denis did a couple "tests" where he uploaded screen caps, etc and they got approved by the new guy(s). They're people, they're not perfect.

There's a somewhat newly installed auto-approval. If you have a certain rating (or points or something) that you earn by approvals or lose by rejections, your pictures will eventually be approved automatically.
Sometimes when this happens, some members then upload whatever the hell they want (like photos of themselves, etc) T.T;;

Keep in mind most of this site is made up of 12-14 year old kids who don't read let alone follow the rules.

It's a tad bit Self Explanitory, Fanart Art, say anything? lol including writting and drawings and such, I guess by reading the title it could help, lol

I don't mean to be annotying but I can't see what the F*c* is wrong wtih those pictures. There all hand drawn non-officle and very well drawn. Excuse me if I miss read but if you ask me those pictures you used as examples are pretty good...
