I dunno...I liked some of their ballads and stuff....
but that guys voice got reeeeeeeally irritating after a while >.o They were around a while ago, too. Like early 90's. Now it's mostly Gackt and HYDE and rockers like that.
What can you do?

::Needs her X-Japan expert next to her but will reply on the knowledge she know::

X-Japan rocked so much! They disbanded after one of their group members "Committed Suicide" which was Hide. Toshi was in a cult and my b/f suspects he in reality killed Hide since in order to join this cult, he needed to kill someone (I dunno how he got that info but 'teva), Yoshi is good on his own but stopped playing for awhile and Heath and Pata I think are now in a new band.

(HIDE FOREVER!)

They have a long and cool (about) 30 min song called Art of Life! Hide is also a great J-Rocker.

Gah, uninformed people. -_-

X Japan and X/1999 share no connections, besides the fact that X Japan did the ending song for the movie. X Japan was EXTREMELY popular in it's day, and still is, despite the death of the band's vocalist, Hide (pronounced HEE-DAY, not to be confused with Hyde, the person on my avatar, which is pronounced HAI-DO). Hide's death is ultimately what caused the end of the band, since it's hard to have a band without a lead vocalist. However, many of the band's members went on to perform in other bands, such as Toshiya, who went on to play in Dir En Grey.

To this day though, Hide and X Japan are still widely revered. Even my foreign exchange student friends from Korea and their siblings know and love X Japan to some degree. Hide will always be remembered for his music.

Awww, you aren't alone!! Hide's death was as big of a deal in Japan as Elvis's was in the States. People all over the world still love Hide the way you do. Smile

I like Gackt better too. ^_^;; Let's just savor him, the God that he is.
