How They Started

Like Megatokyo wasn't so strange since it was/is a webcomic, but something like Di Gi Charat started-off as a shop's mascot's comic type-thing. Heh. Do any of you know some other weird ways they came to be?

erm...i know that beyblade started off from a game that kids used to play over a 1000 years ago in Japan and they were like spinning tops or Koma's and they were called Beigoma's.....and Beigoma is the Japanese word for an ancient type of top. Also the main bitbeasts come from the chinese energies:
The Black Tortoise of Water - Draciel (Genbu)
The White Tiger of Wood - Driger (Byakku)
The Green Dragon of Metal - Dragoon (Ryu)
The Red Phoenix of Fire - Dranzer (Suzaku)
and thats all i know........ ^_^

yep..definatly 1000..... ^_^ but it was only the basic game...they didnt have the proper launchers of anything and i believe they were made out of wood. and the would wrap string aroung the top...and well...launch..... Laughing

thats ok....i read all of the main facts about the actual sport in a beyblade book thing and the part about the bit beasts was from a feng-shui book WTF?

1000 years sounds right since 100 years ago, we had more technology and most likely would've come up with something better. And kids in Japan DID have a game like that long, long ago. They still do now, cept with better equipment and stuff ^^

i probably told everyone i knew at the time who weren't even interested.
they didnt start playing the game in china unil about 5 years after they started it properly in japan. ^_^

Lingerie Soldier Papillon Rose.

Originally started as a website, actually. The person made up a fake anime that parodied Sailor Moon, about really weird crack (something about fighting evil with a vibrator?). The website was nicely made - character pictures and bios made, storyline too... So it enmassed a large following who were fans of this non-existant anime. XD

Soon, it grew with so much popularity, two OVAs were made.

The show is extreme ecchi, if not flat out hentai, if you couldn't guess from the title. XD

Sokra Refugees was a webcomic too. I'm hoping to see Directions of Destiny published. If they don't, man those guys are idiots!!! That's the best webcomic I've ever read.

yeah your right, though with all the pretty serious poses and all, my favorites are still the chibi's dunno why just do. *nods* . . . .

Pokemon was originally thought up by that Satoshi guy 'cuz he liked to collect bugs and stuff when he was little. He just transferred the idea to Pokemon. Uh-huh.

teenage mutant ninja turtles was created by some college student back when pet turtles were all the rage. they were brainstorming what happend to the baby turtles that got flushed down the toilet XD
