wait a bit, hon. they're not a bad band, we've performed a few of their songs live before, but they're really nothing special. they're not great, they're not bad (hell, if they were bad, we wouldn't perform their songs!). really reminice (sp?) of the beetles, just more new-century and cleaner. not exactly something i'd have something on my i-pod, but they've got some pretty decent listening-to music.
"hold me now" isn't too bad, we've performed that once or twice. of course, i fucked up the tone, but that's ok, it still rocked.
by the way, this could be placed in the "music" section. why didn't you put it there? |

I'll move it to music for you, since it's bound to either get buried or spammed here.
About the band, I can't stand them. They opened for Bowie, and I was so tempted to just go back to the lobby or merch stand or anything to get away. A whole bunch of jumping up and down in robes and stupid hand movements and songs that went on forever.
How many people are in that band? So many...
Can't comment on their entire body of work, since I just saw their one set, but I hated every moment of it. Just go away and bring out David. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

funny thing is that we could play thier songs with about four or five (well, we needed someone who could play a damn piano...) people while they used... twelve!? amazing. i like one or two of their songs myself, not really a fan of their style. i can't believe we played "hold me now," LIVE, i mean, we usually just bash s**t on stage and throw stuff at eachother, not sing about happiness and caring. blech. their website sux too.
i still don't understand why they wear robes... and why they have violinists... you don't even hear the violin over the guitar, piano and their chorus's singing, why even have it? blech, they remind me too much of christian music sung at chruch.
they've got trumpets too... trumpets and rock guitars should never be played together. |

No surprise David had them open, though. They seem like his type of thing. But god, so irritating. The songs may not have been so bad, I was just overly distracted by the blinding light show and choreographed movements. I'm convinced they need all those people just to make thrusting your arm up and down not look so lame if 12 people are all doing it. Plus they've got, what, 6 or 9 people just as a "choir"? At least they did in that show.
The singer was mildly entertaining with his flamboyant jumping. But that was about it. And the songs were too long. Oh, they had a harp, too. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

blinding light show, eh? yeah, sounds like them. i swear, their main website page is about to give me a damn seizure just looking at it... they've got a harp? heh, i don't think once i've heard it... they need to realize that if they cut a bunch of the people who don't matter, their share from gigs will be increased. cut out the people who don't do anything, 'cause... well 'cause it's smart to. |

Indeed. I suppose, in part, they wear the robes because 15 people in their own outfits would be chaotic looking. Four or five people in "loud" showing outfits is cool. A whole stage full is overwhelming. Plus it gives the singer something to swoosh around in while jumping on monitors.
Really, if they shortened the songs, fixed the light show (it was like staring at the sun, flashing in your eyes), and cut out some of the people (or at least stopped the stupid movements), they'd be better. The singer wasn't half bad, as well as some of the musicians, but the excessive number of people killed it. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C.
