It's a site for everything, really. It's just that anime is really popular, so you will see it everywhere. But we do have a lot of other stuff. Realism, abstract, landscapes, etc etc.

Anything goes of any kind here, as long as it's art, it's welcomed.

Anime is just supremely popular. But if you think about all the half assed drawn doodles and blobs people draw, there really isn't that much anime art that's really good and stands out. Just the same stuff over and over.

Sometimes i like to go hunting for the good stuff in the lesser visited categories. You should try it sometime, it's good for when you can't sleep.

Unfortunately, the anime fanart that is actually of quality is buried under the tons of crap drawn by little 13 year old kids like me. Especially with the "chibi" excuse. Now chibi is used as a euphemism for extremely crappy picture that lacks correct proportion.
What really annoys me are the people who can only draw from direct references like official art. There's really no point in doing so, as we can see the character in that pose in official art already.
BUt nevermind the crap, there are artists who draw well in anime style. About one for every hundred or so...(' . . . .

We have anything you want, really. We have art of all styles and genres, we have a radio station, forums, a paintchat....
We are supreme quality without the annoying "This picture is not fantasy enough".

seek and you shall find.

If you're not into anime fanart, go to the paintings sections, real life drawings, etc. Make use of the navigation system. It's there for that reason. To find what you're looking for.
