I placed this here as it seems to me like this is where it is happening most, this is where the people are most affected by it, I'd like them to state thier voice on the matter..
How about making Newbies with a post count lower than say 2 or 3 unable to see any other thread other than the newbie thread Plus they get a forum Message with a link in it to go to the Newbie Thread Plus an email explaining they have 3 posts to make within the newbie thread, to let themselves known, settled in and to show they've read the rules. A recent amount of around 6 threads have appeared in General Discussion which have pretty much wasted space and caused dislike among the people. I know it isn't such a major deal but there Is a Newbie thread, so why can't it be used by newbies.
My suggestion in summary;
-Users lower than 3 posts Only able to see Newbie Thread
-Forum message explaining the situation and a link straight to Newbie thread
-Email explaining same and offering the same link.
I say about 3 posts because Newbies usually double post and/or like to get settled in first?
If the people can't read the rules, they cannot interact. Simple as. This forum has rules. Rules much like a computer system. Some can't be bent. Others Won't be broken.
Parden the Matrix reference with slight twist but yeah I'm tired.

Actually, I'd be in favor of requiring newbies to reach like 10 or so posts before they are allowed to create ANY new threads.
With exception for the Help forum, of course.... _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
