I'm still waiting to see someone throw a bucket of red paint over one of the rich @(#^)# in New York City as she walks down the street in her $20,000 dollar fur coat. I'm disappointed i haven't seen it happen yet Sad

I mean, yeah, i do like some furs. Not for the look though. I think it's disgusting to wear that stuff around just for fashion. I grew up going to local indian festivals and buying furs that they get from the animals they killed for food and used up. And attempting to make a blanket out of it (freakin cold winters where i come from. Blizzards! YEAH!) They're warm, lets face it. And sooooo soft. But i don't think i'll ever buy a fur coat. Besides, i think they're kind of ugly

It does bother me some when you see all these rappers wearing there big ass fur coats and lil'kim has a collection of coats, boots and fur bikinis (huh?) that is suppose to be worth 1 million Surprised That's just ludacris i swear. <_< I just don't understand why people would want to have a bunch of animals killed just so they can have a fur coat made that you don't depend on like the animals do.

It's just one of those things that's still a holdover from when we NEEDED to have furs. The richest one was usually the one who had the most to keep himself warm, and it just went on from there.

Status, my friend, status. No other reason. Why do people drive around Jags when a Volkswagen can get the job done just as well (sometimes better)?

Now, I'm not for total fur-evasion, and I own some rabbit pelts that I use for feet warmers, but coats... eugh. Someone who has enough money to BUY a fur bikini, and what's more, to actually go off and do so... maybe them having that much money ain't the best idea in the first place.

Agreed . . . .

I have no problem with people having furs, but when it's just for pure reasons of money and status and not keeping warm like they were originally used for. That's when i get aggitated by it. It's when people go out buy them, wear them out to their fancy diners and to these events to show off, i just wish someone would throw a bucket of paint on them. I'd laugh my @*$ off over it. But using them to keep you warm, i don't mind. And where i come from, people do go hunting and such, but they use as much of the animal as possible.

I still wish i had mine, that blanket was a good idea, just wasn't sure how to do it. lol. Eh, i was little.

I really have nothing to add that hasn't already been said, except this...

"The old saying, Get a feel for fur, slam your fingers in a car door! isnt enough anymore. How about this one, Get a feel for fur, shove an electric prod up your ass! On the other hand, that statement may turn of few of these stupid fur wearin models on. They may have done this before. Ya never know!" - Rikki

The full thing is HERE, but I've always loved that quote.

that is totally right! im not a vegan or anything and i probably never will be because hey "we need animals to survive" but as much as i love meat i despise against killing animals for a dumb reason like for fur coats.

THEY ARE FREAKKIN UGLY!! and a fur bikkini?!?!? WTF?

i love animals so much and they depend on there own fur coats than humans do!!

i prefer flannel coats! ^_^

oh and i am also twelve but that doesnt mean that i am stupid or anything. i look like im 14. i am smart!

It's just heartless to kill an animal for fashion or merchandise. Haven't they ever thought of themselves being in the animal's place about to be killed just for merchandise?

I'm not a vegetarian or anything like that. I believe in the food chain- we need animals to survive. But fur coats? It's so ridiculous. Why should poor animals have to suffer just so the wife of some Wall Street fat cat can look good at her next country club meeting?
Today we have many fabrics and man-made things that can keep us warm, some even more effectively than fur. It's just a status symbol. That makes e sick.

Yeah, i'm just as i was meant to be. A meat eater! Grr! Laughing Although i do show signs that i have evolved from our ancestors, seeing as i prefer my meet cooked and not bleeding I don't understand how people eat rare meat. I like to know it's dead for crying out loud <_< But yeah. And i've had animals of all sorts all my life. Dogs all my life until these past three years but that's going to change very soon. Cats too of which i have three, and probably had up to 10 since i was little and such. I've had lots of fish including tropical, and adopted a chip munk for awhile whenmy neighbor injured it with his bee bee gun like an idiot. And baby bunny rabbits we'd find in the woods and take care of. etc etc.

Funny thing is, my last boss, she had a fur coat. I hated it. What i find funny though, they're cat one day went to lay on it (how ironic, no spunky! get away! Surprised ) Anne freaked out and rain her away. She didn't want her to get any cat fur on it It's a freakin fur coat. For crying outloud.

All i think is you need meat in your diet. But that's different from buying a coat. You kill an animal for food, something that your diet depends on. We weren't meant to only eat greens and such. We have to have some meat. But killing a bunch of animals for a damn fashion reason .Please <_<

I tend to hesitate before condemning fur wearers, because I've had leather shoes in the past and may do again. Besides, animal rights are pretty low on my list of priorities...

But apart from the moral issues, I've rarely seen anyone look good in fur. Young women look like slappers, older women just look snobby and/or dated.

I think some kind of material should be made that feels almost just like the real thing. That way, fur coats can be made without having to kill innocent animals and slowly pushing them to extiction. Sad

It's already been done. Thing is people think there's some difference between the two (there really isnt....), so if it isn't real fur they look at it with disgust. This is similar to me when they would tell me it's made from real fur. Razz Jackasses, you only kill something if you're going to eat it. That's all you need stupid people. I mean yea you can go hunting, just make sure you or your dogs or whatever the hell animal gets to eat it or else it's pointless. (My neighbors went hunting and brought back some deer. Dogs absolutely LOVED it!). Human nature to have fun killing things, anyway. *shrug*

There is, thousands of dollars. Wink Very few people like it for the look or how it feels. They just like being able to brag about it being fur.

Yeah, people who love real fur coats are dumbasses.

I agree with you Pyrodragon125. Animals should only be killed if the animal is going to be eaten.
