Christmas Is Coming [fac Secret Santa]

Alright well I havn't created a new topic in who knows how long but I want to give it a try Surprised

I was just thinking about Christmas is coming soon, only a few more weeks till we get Christmas break in our school (2 weeks to be more exact I think)

I was just curious to see what everyone on the forums is doing for Christmas and if its even snowing where ever you live. Frickin Ohio hasn't even shed a flake of snow down here Grr!

On another note. This is completely optional and some might find it stupid but I was thinking about doing a Fanart Forums secret santa Smile

I thought about it last night when me and a friend decided to create a secret santa for like a group of 20 or more that we hang out with. We were going to put a bunch of names in a hat then shuffle them out and who ever got who had a 20$ limit on what they could get that person. Well of course with us if we do it on here we have no "hat" to draw names but I think we could some how find a way and pull it off Laughing

and yes I am serious about this idea. Just give me your thoughts an some of this. Uneasy

Only thing I do is decorating our artificial christmastree, being gladd I don't have to study (unless I screw up my exam next monday), and having dinner with the family once. Nothing special.

A lot of people probably don't feel like giving out their house addresses on line, but it's still a great idea! What about a secret Santa drawing? Smile

Everyone would get a name and draw something based upon what that person is a fan of. Like if I were to get Strata I could draw him a dragon pic and upload it on Christmas. It'd be a secret until then, of course.

That sounds good too. Your right though, not many people would probably feel comfortable giving out their address to people online, especially if they got someone they didn't really know well or liked that much. If people would like to draw a picture instead that is fine by me, I just thought this would a "cute" or thoughtful idea either way ^_^

Well...I always spend Christmas at my Grandma's every year with my family...Eat, drink, wait til Midnight...Meh...But that Secret Santa idea is really good Cheshire. Cept I think it would be alittle better with the drawing one.

We got snow in October...

We're doing nothing special for Christmas. My brothers are coming over for the day. Having turkey, mashed potatoes and stuff...
'Cept my mom and stepdad always seem to fight round Christmas season (theyre fighting right now, actually). Two years ago, they got in a huge fight. I stayed at home with mom for Christmas, and my stepdad went out of town to visit other family. It was actually a really awkward Christmas. o.0

I like the Secret Santa Drawing idea a lot. Nice.

I did the secret santa drawing thing on another site last year. No possible way I have time this year, though. Sad

The way that site did it was one person who wasn't participating took all the names of people who wanted to participate and randomly drew the names, then PM'ed each person who they were drawing for. Since I can't participate, I'd do that if you want...

Anyway, for Christmas...sitting home. Pops is decorating the tree right now. I already know what I'm getting (helping him order it later today), so not much surprise this year.

I'm glad you guys think its a decent idea ^_^ But yeah that would be very nice of you Fallen. haha i trust that you won't rig them or some stupid s**t like that. but yes that would be very nice of you so go for it. From now on just let us know in this thread if you want to be apart of this secret santa Smile

Christmas for me this year is going to be a little bit off. Every year (its tradition) during Christmas Eve my moms side of the family comes over and my dad whom is a Chef makes a very nice and fancy (a little too bit fancy for my taste but the family loves it and looks forward to it) dinner for everyone. Then we open presents that we exchanged and everyone hangs out till around midnight usually. Then I go to my dads side of the family Christmas morning. But this year we are having Christmas at my aunts house on my moms side (well me and my mom) and then I'm going with just my dad to his familys house on Christmas morning. The lovely process of divorce neh? anyways I want it to snow so badly over here. The most we have got in my city is frost on the grass.

I get so excited over Christmas, just the feeling around in general, and of course a gift or two woulcn't hurt eh Rolling eyes

I'm sending real Christmas cards to a handful of people. You could email them without needing any organization (as I may do...hm...maybe). If Chesh likes the impartial third party idea, I could post the "form" that was used on the other site. Stuff like rating preferences n' all...

Sounds good to me. A week should be enough for people to say that they want to be apart of this but any later I think is too late. Fill them out everyone you know you want to be generous :)
