Does you're family have any traditions that they do? One for my family is that we always put sauerkraut in out mashed potatoes for good luck on New Year's. Yuck. Also, my family always goes to my grandma's house on Christmas Eve. We eat a big feast, and then we get to open presents early and play with them. |

Me and my mom started a tradition 3 years ago. Every year on the 4th of July we get up and go in New York City and have lunch there and talk for awhile, crack jokes at each other (our usual thing to do) Then we make our way to the L.I.E (hope i got that right) to get our spots for the fireworks. Everyone is put up on the highway there all the way down the east side of Manhatten and we bring some chairs and a blanket, a backpack with some snacks and bottles of water while we spend a few hours up there. We get in some real good conversations with people. And the police themselves at times, although last year they were royal jackasses <_<
This year though, we didn't get to go. We have company over, i was so..well...mad. But the year before that, well, we forgot our drinks and all that and they would let me and my friend danielle back out to go get some. We had to be up there in the sun and all through the fireworks with nothing to eat and no drinks. We were so badly dehydrated. The cops wouldn't even let us down when we said it was our time of the month and it was important. They were real jerks that year. The year before they were great and were making jokes with us.
Doing it again this year to. It's something i want to have every year, no matter if i move away or not, i'll always have to come back to NYC for the 4th of July. So much of the american experience lies in that city that a lot of people miss But i love it to death. |

Every year on easter we go to our grandparents' house and have an easter dinner with the SAME exact dishes (it gets annoying at times, but hey), and then me, my brother, my grandparents, my cousin, and my mother all hide eggs for the little ones to find. But, that may not happen anymore. _________________ <MARQUEE>

Every New Year's Eve, my familt takes my Gramma out to dinner. We always go to the Azteca, and order the same thing (mom and dad get steak ranchero, me and gramma get cheese enchiladas).

Every New Years we go to my grandma's. We eat, drink, and at midnight we drink more and eat 12 grapes. Boy that was fun.. _________________ "Don't Worry, Just Because I Don't Talk to You, Doesn't mean I Hate You!"

Traditions...Traditions...yeah, I had several when my family and I were back in my country. My grandmother would always cook her best dishes for birthdays and in her church, we would play a game to find the hidden eggs for Easter.
Now in America, my mom would always make her best noodle dish for my birthday and everyone loves it. I would beg her to make it.
My aunt's family and mine just started this tradition of going to church for every Christmas and for New Years also. _________________ Haha, a retard's jumping out of the building. Talk about stupidity. |

Really? My family eats black eyed peas instead. I have to have ketchup on mine. *shudder* |
