Or you can be smart and go through school like a hot knife through butter.

Ok

1. LMAo at your 'siblings' situations.

2. Yeah well.. I see this the way many other kids do.. you're only young once.. why wait until your retirement to kick back and relax, have a laugh when at that age your hip would break from too much prune juice...
People put too much emphasis on the early years of schooling. They don't realise that there is your whole life to do things like education. Ok understandably it's much better to get it all in when the child is young but for heaven's sake.. Don't scare the kid half to death because "Not going to University (or college for that matter) means you won't ever have a life)"

Bullshit I know far too many people who've gone out this way and I'll be damned if I'm the same.. Ok.. I'm not smart, I'm not athletic, but what I can do, I do well.. What I do, I enjoy. That's important to me. I'm naturally not well set up for being smart, brainy etc.. I know what I have to and that's all there is to it. If I wish to learn somethign I will learn it and try to pick up experience about it along the way as I play with the job..

That's my $0.02 anyway.

I go to school, and personally, I like it!

I think there's nothing better than the public school system. It's simple, easy, and FREE! My big gripe is that I go to an art school (public, mind you) that's 50 miles away from me. Yeah. Living in LA and going to a school in Santa Ana. Real bright, I know. But I don't hate the school for it, just the trip of getting there. A slight plug here for the California Metrolink -- Santa Ana to Union in less than an hour, hooboy!

Even before I went over to the art school, I enjoyed my classes, my teachers, and the setup. Alhambra did, and still does, a great job of instilling a love for school in the kids. Yeah, sure, you get a few jerkwads that dropped out simply because they thought it was cool (and subsequently got brought in by the ruff by truent officers, and sometimes the Alhambra P.D.), but in general, people like school. Any kid going there will tell you about how fun the teachers and the classes are. Not to mention the annual car show put on by the more mechanically inclined students, with one in particular bringing in his Studebaker ambulence and classic Fords. XD

I think school CAN be enjoyable... but the public and community has to understand that even a terriffic school can be brought to its knees by a lack of funding. Taxes must be paid to keep our schools running. So next time el presidente gives us all a nice big tax break, remember that for every dollar you get back, you'll be paying five more to the PTA and fund raisers. Money that would be going there in the first place, before the cuts. Alhambra suffered a lot from funding cuts. Some of the best teachers left because of it, and some of the best programs were left to rot. Used to be best in SoCal for our solar cars. Humph. Damned if we even compete now.

Oh God, I used to complain about school a lot. Now........I like school. The only thing I hate is that I only have four minutes in between classess. It's a real pain.

I'm sorry, but school doesn't exactly 'suc.'

It's because you expect something so horrible each day, and eventually, you believe what you expect. It's really simple, and school really IS fun if you pay attention, try your best, and don't expect the worst.

*shakes head* You won't know how good you've got it till it's too late.

Believe me, I know how you all feel. I've been there, low funding, trying to get everything done in the three minutes between classes, watching teachers picket senior year when the contracts came up for reapproval or whatever it's called...ended up graduating a month and a half late cause we didn't have any school during October because of a strike...

Just remember, you're close to home and surrounded by friends. People you know at any rate. And you don't have to pull all-nighters writing 10 papers about stuff you don't remember actually learning.

Yes you may hate most of your teachers and have no friends, just wait till you can't stand your boss and don't get along with your coworkers.

Meh, I must disagree with you, Maria. I hate school because it's too easy for me. I'm always bored and it's not challenging.

The work I don't mind, but mainly my teachers give me busy work. The work is never hard enough, and a lot of the kids in my class still don't get it.

My school literally does suck. Half the kids say it's too hard and think it's unfair to have another class (religion) than the other Elementary schools, but I find it way too easy.

I personally don't think school is that bad. Sure I complain almost everyday about high school and how some of the new levys and laws passed in my state involving the school system can be down right outrageous or what ever but thats all part of being a kid/student in school. People are always going to have something to say about how annoying school can be, but its really not all that bad. Its half and half for me. With out school I think life would be sort of boring. Eventually sleeping in and doing nothing would get boring, plus I know going to school be very helpful in the future for me. Getting to see friends, a little drama and something that occupies you are the upsides of school I think. Its just the whole getting packed with big assignments and homework all at the same time sometimes does it for you. Right now I'm not doing so good in school  ;; I have been getting bad grades on some projects and procrastinating my outside art project thats soon to be due, and plus we have these tests that was just passed for the state of Ohio called OGT tests (Ohio Graduation tests) They are for 10th graders, we must pass these along with mid terms and finals. It was just created this year as an experiment........f**king "experiment" my ass Grr!

Actually, Black Roses (trying to make your name short enough so I can type it), you might wanna change your mind. It's an 'average' thing to hate school, and, to like it. When people go to school in the morning, they're probably thinking that it will just be another horrible day (unless you're okay with school or like it). They're not trying hard enough, (if your failing), or they're plain bored, and they don't really push themselfs because:

A. They think they're already flunking and they don't need to try harder.
B. They know that they can ace the class and it is just TOO easy for them...
C. They're too busy thinking about something else.
D. None of the Above.

Choice A: The reason why that person is flunking and think school is lousy because they're not having a fun expierience. If you look at it, you have to WORK to have FUN. It just doesn't come to you.

Choice B: Again, push yourself. Even if you ARE going to ace the class or it is just TOO easy for you, look at this. You think you're doing the same things everyday. Because you ARE. As stated earlier, it's boring because you know these things as much as you know your first name. Good for you. If you know this stuff, then don't think of it as 'easy.' Try not to treat it like it's easy. PRETEND it's a challenge and who knows, it might not seem as boring (okay, that part didn't make sense.)

Choice C: You're in school. Right now, you might as well learn something. School is boring to you and uninteresting to you because you won't even think about it. You're probably failing, and if you're not, it's the same reason. School is uninteresting because you don't know a THING about it. You're thinking about something else, and don't even 'care' about school. Care. You never know, you're grades suddenly can take a nosedive.

Choice D: *no comment*

Sorry to rant...

As long as you get through school, you'll never have to do it again. Besides, if you don't go through school, how will you be able to get the job you want. In short, school is supposed to help you. If you only hate school because of George Bush's new "No Child Left Behind" program, don't. It isn't in effect yet, and it is supposed to help you. And that's coming from a Bush hater. I rest my case.

Under my standards, it's as simple as two plus two.

Go through school, do it well, and enjoy it while it lasts. You're going to have a JOB soon ya know, people, so I wouldn't exactly say school 'sucks' or 'sux' or whatever. Unless you wanna end up with a detention, pink slip, demerits, you get what I'm talking about.

I haven't had a problem with school much really - in primary school I found most of the exercises easy, but the teachers usually found me more challenging things to do, or challenging books to read. My Secondary School is a private school, which you have to pass an exam to get into, so we're all kinda smart here and so are challenged more. At any rate, I'm going to University in October, so I'm leaving school behind whether I like it or not....

I've got 5 months of school left (pre-lims in a week) and I can safely say that I've wasted a few good years stuck in classrooms. Never had a problem with it, but I wish people didn't have to waste their childhood listening to some decrepit old git writing stuff on a board that is of no use to anyone regardless of what they do with their lives. (You can stuff your algebraic equations!)

Now that ya mention it, school is kinda iffy. Without school, I wouldn't have twice as many friends...

But if there was no school, I could do lots of new things... Rock climbing, write, read draw, cook...

I agree with Craig. I don't mind school all that much, but it's all that gawd-dang useless math crap that I hate! When will I EVER need algebra if I am going to become an actress?

the rest of school, I like. English is fun and easy, science is okay, and social studies will probably get interesting once we start doing world history. French is easy, too. That's because I have a good teacher.
