My dad introduced me to them earlier this year when he learned I like Andy Warhol's work. I like them a lot, and I think Lou Reed is just awesome. They were managed by Andy and released their debut album in the same year as Sgt. Pepper's. But the Velvet Underground were completely the opposite to most other bands in the Sixties as they were from New York and did not buy into the whole peace and love thing. They wrote songs about heroin and S&M. I like them beacuse I like their cynical side and they had a much bigger influence on punk than any other band from the Sixties. My favorite song of theirs is Heroine.
Anyone like them? Or at least heard of them? No one in my school has and I was hoping some of the smart people with good music tastes who visit these forums have. _________________ |

I like 'em. Plus the cover for "The Velvet Underground and Nico" rules. I got to include a whole paragraph about them in my Warhol report. :)
EDIT: 6,666 posts for me. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
