I could go into [i]why[/i] they're not the greatest, but no one would listen. Better than some, worse than a lot. Their early stuff was tolerable, but I can't even stand to hear the new ones.

It's just my opinion. Come on, everyone has their likes and dislikes. I like Green Day's music and I'm just saying what I feel nothing more.

It's the way you said it.

"Greatest" implies they're more talented/influential/skilled/successful than everyone else.

"Favorite" means you like them over everyone else.

I knew what you meant, but there's a big difference between a group being your favorite and being "the greatest".

Their old stuff was good. One of the first things to get me into rock in the first place. My uncle got me the CASSETTE one year and I loved it. Granted I was only like, 6, but still. Nowadays, they've gone the way of Good Charlotte. Out the window. I smash something anytime I hear "American Idiot"..........

Green Day is my 3rd favorite band or something like that, and I love Green Day. Yeah, I agree with Pyrodragon, they sorta have gone GC, thats insulting to them. But Green Day compared to Good Charlotte....phew.

I despise THEM now, but they're music is okay. Old green day is so much better. Preps now have a hold on them so now they're going too pop-ish...(theres nothing wrong with preps so don't get offended...they all just seem so pretty...)

ya i have to agree greeday still are one of my personal favorites... and well there new stuff is ok but im still all for the origianl stuff... i think they've become very "artsy"
