There are several ways.
1. Use Macromedia Flash
a. and have an animated flash animation (Note fanart central doesn't support that at the moment)
b. Save it as an animated gif.
2. Compile an animated gif outta frames in some common file format. There are several programs that can do this.
3. I THINK photoshop can make an animated gif outta layers. Sombody else may know more than I on that subject.
4. Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Fireworks support creating animations internally and can save as an animated gif.
Note: There is also an animated png. Its not very common tho. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

Full Photoshop comes with Adobe ImageReady, which is the program that can make animated gifs. There's an icon on the toolbar to switch between programs. (it's the little picture near the bottom) _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

You need a program that can make animations. Flash, Adobe ImageReady, or there's some simple free ones off http://www.download.com The way they work all depends on the program you're using. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

There are gif programs you can make small animations for. Flash and stuff makes those large loading shows. Adobe Image Ready is good program, it just takes time to play with so you can figre out the schemes.
Right now i'm using one, but i'll post the link here later. I can help you out with this program, its simple and easy! |

I have JASC. It works well for me but I have to do my art on a different program. I don't care though. I downloaded it as a trial from Neopets. I know how to use that. |
