Just a thread to talk about the highly controversial movie, Dogma. I thought it was really funny because a lot of the concepts the characters pointed out were things that I've been thinking for a long time but never said anything. Plus, its just an overall great comedy in my opinion. What do you all think? ^_^

Yeah I didn't find it so controversial but you'll always have those self-rightious renegade christians who can't find humour in something so universally accepted as religion. Break off from the moul once in a while and have fun. Oh wait, that's a sin :o

Excellent film though.. some good thoughts in the airport scene.. I really enjoy'd it, me and sister hav' collected each film J&SB star in.. Hella good stuff.. Working on a Johnny Depp and Tim Burton one, now.

I thought it was great. Alan Rickman as the Metatron was funny as hell. And of course, Jay & Silent Bob.

Don't forget the golf club being an instrument of God, ^_^

I thought Rufus was the funniest character. Chris Rock is great. ^_^

"A black man can steal your stereo but he can't bring you salvation. Thats called hipocrisy."

Or how about when Jay asked him what he knew about him.

"Hey, tell me something no one knows about me."
"You mast*rbate more than anyone on the planet."
"Psh, everyone knows that about me. Tell me something people don't know."
"When you're doing it you're thinkin' about guys."

Laughing

Azreal was an ass. :P

"But I'm a frickin' demon!"

I loved when Beth, Rufus and Jay were drowning the devil hockey players in the blessed sink but Jay looked liked he was getting to enthusiastic with it. Laughing

There were so many great one liners in that movie too. ^_^

One of my favorite roles Alan Rickman has ever played.

"Oh please I couldn't rape you if I wanted to." Then he drops his drawers to show us. That was great.

What about the Golgothan? ("A sh*t demon!")
Laughing One of my favorite parts.
The part where you find out he's a she? Nice...

Didn't find the movie all to controversial. It was fun the first time through, but Comedy Central chopped it into pieces, fed it to the dogs, waited and took the dog s**t and rubbed it in our faces. They aired it a liiiiitle bit too much. :/

Good movie though.

Muah, love that movie, hence the quote on my sig.

Ah, Jay and Silent Bob...loved them in Mallrats, loved them in Dogma...gotta be one of my favorite movies of all time.

Bethany: You were martyred?
Rufus: That's one way of putting it. Another way of putting it would be to say that I was bludgeoned to death by a huge f**king rock.

Rufus was da bomb. <3

Alan Rickman is awesome. I loved him as Snape. There's something about his voice that I find very sexual.

*Cough* Moving on...I'm actually using a monologue from Dogma for this try out at my school for the musical. Its the part where Bartleby has the epiphany and decides to wage war on God. I've seen the movie so many times so this should be easier for me than reading something from like Shakespeare. ^_^

Awwww...but thats the only version I've seen. Its not that bad. Just a lot of words are cut out and a few n*de scenes. Sad I don't know why they skipped the part where Metatron drops his pants (thus fallen's pic.) Its not like there's anything naughty being shown (thus, the obvious joke.)
Rufus was da bomb. <3
Next to Metatron, Rufas was my favorite character. Cool

Beth: You knew Christ?
Rufas: Knew him?! The brother owes me twelve bucks.

One of my favorite scenes. But the whole movie was gold so my favorite scenes are almost the whole movie. ^_^

Not a she, an "it". Rolling eyes That and Galaxy Quest are my two favorite Rickman roles. Really more or less the same character, different makeup. Razz

Yes, Comedy Central killed it. . . . . They need to air it at 1am like they do the South Park movie.
