. . . Does anyone else remember the OTHER hell-fire hero?
Brimstone was a TV show that ran from 1998-1999, following a cop, Ezekiel Stone, who was brought back from Hell to hunt down 113 escapees. The Devil would appear every now and again, either to give Ezekiel his mission, or to simply make his life all that more difficult. While Ezekiel's time in the pit had given him some supernatural advantages, the hellions he was hunting had been there far longer, and possessed abilites far beyond his own. The only way to send a hellion back was to get it in the eyes. Now, this could mean shooting, stabbing, or gorging, and the show was rather creative.
Think of it as Buffy, the Vampire Slayer mixed with Early Edition and Simon & Simon. There was always some new case, some new baddie, and lots of neat fight scenes.
I wished they'd kept it on longer, and I'm sure that if it had premeiered just a little later, when Buffy was in its prime, that it would have been able to hold on. But the sci-fi genre wasn't quite ready for such dark storylines, especially when the hero was taking orders from Lucifer, himself!

A woman was passing out Constantine posters at ECCC. I threw mine in the trash and I noticed so did everyone else since the trash was full of them. "Pretty soon, that movie's going to join its posters."
The game sucked too. Just doesn't quite do justice to the real thing, I guess. |
